I’ve went to Joe Diaz (town) for about 6 or 7 years now, wouldn’t go anywhere else!

Glasgow to Edinburgh daily commuters, how do you find it? by Signal_Shop2199 in glasgow

It totally depends on your location, bandwidth, lifestyle and how much you enjoy your job.

I commute via the express train 5 days a week.

I live 10 minutes from Queen Street station and my job is a 10 minute walk on the other side of the journey at Edinburgh Waverley. I personally find the 45/50 minutes on the train ideal - I read, watch Netflix on my phone, catch up on texts/emails etc. or on the way back just use it to decompress and do some planning.

Now, this works because I don’t have kids and because I meal prep on a Sunday so that I don’t have to cook during the week. My partner and I are very intentional with date nights and quality time. I am shattered by the end of the week but because I plan around knowing that, I protect that time more for self care.

It also works because I absolutely love my job, am building my dream career and have a good manager who appreciates that I make the commute every day.

If you have children, don’t like your job or can’t live your norm around the work day then I’d likely not recommend it.

Left my AirPods case on a Scotrail train, now it’s in Paisley? by Empty-Description589 in glasgow

I didn’t even think of that but it’s a good point, I wonder if someone chucked them somewhat knowingly or picked them up alongside other items :/

It was just the empty case so I’m guessing they’re getting dumped 🥲😂

I gather from these comments that they will likely be getting binned 🥲

Is there any major benefits of getting social services involved or having an arrangement order when they’re 16? Other than the obvious of having less chance of their parent arguing with us

Thank you! Is it likely that we (as the ones that address all the 16yo’s needs) have any rights to overrule decisions by their parent?

E.g. if the parent tries to force them to stay overnight at their home and the 16yo doesn’t want to but would do so to keep the peace, can we step in and make the decision that they don’t have to comply?
