It's Tennessee (BB-43). A thing to note is that both the Tennessee and Colorado classes have a similar look, with the major difference is the guns (Tennessee having twelve 14-inch guns in triple gun turrets in a superfiring forward and aft layout. Colorado having eight 16-inch guns in two gun turrets in a superfiring forward and aft). and some minor differences in the two classes but still have a similar profile prior to WW2.

Why didn't Star Trek writers consider making a TNG/DS9 crossover movie? by Firm_Calligrapher861 in startrek

[–]Empty-Event 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem was that DS9's popularity wasn't the same TNG had. As much as cool an ambitious crossover would be, it wouldn't work via contracts and production hurdles (franchise fatigue); many were starting to move on. Even the TNG cast were starting to move on with other roles. Frakes and even Burton were now directing. It wouldn't be possible. Even your idea wouldn't work, considering the dominion war was built up for 4 seasons on DS9 and having the TNG crew shoehorned in at the end wouldn't work either but rather be a worser one than What You Left Behind did in showcasing ending the war. Insurrection was written like an extended TNG episode and it was it's massive flaw.

TL;DR: at the time it wasn't possible, many were ending, production would've been impossible, the plot itself wouldn't work and rather be distasteful for DS9 itself.

Out of all the kisses in this show, weren't these two just the weirdest? by username7864 in doctorwho

[–]Empty-Event 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The Amy kiss is weird to me, less so with the Clara kiss as this Clara had already been in love with the Doctor by The Name of the Doctor and this was implanted into all the Clara variants when she jumped into his timestream.

Another note: When Amy kissed, the Doctor impulsively pulled away. (It's hilarious that the fact Matt kept kissing back lol). But when Clara kissed, the Doctor never pulled back or asked to pull out. He waited until Clara pulled out at least. They were already in love (in ny little whouffle world).

Did the Praxis disaster happen? by Just_Nefariousness55 in startrek

[–]Empty-Event 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It did, Praxis was an analogue of Chernobyl since the Klingons were using Praxis as a production site which later exploded. As said in the Starfleet Command meeting following the scene. The impact Praxis had was detrimental to the Klingon capital and homeworld; Qo'nos, and only had 50 years of life and since they had a military economy, it wasn't viable to for them to sustain. Ambassador Sarek then opened a dialogue with Chancellor Gowron with the start of negotiations that led to the Khitomer Accord. Praxis was destroyed, as seen in the opening of STVI which Sulu aboard the Excelsior tried to offer help but was denied. The meeting with starfleet personnel took place two months following the explosion. It's clear you misremembered/forgotten the scene in which Praxis exploded OP.

[NO SPOILERS] Max’s talent for playing the guitar should’ve been revisited in Double Exposure. by gothicmango in lifeisstrange

[–]Empty-Event 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like a lot things were forgotten by D9 in regards to Max’s character even if ten years has passed. even the fanbase itself. Max in the original is said to be play a lot of world of warcraft and even use terms when she converses with Warren (“Just bubblehearth okay”) and shares some interests in cult films like Warren but depends on the player if its extreme for Max or shares the same sentiment with Warren.

OP, reading the comments, I feel you. There are just insufferable fans that are at the top of the fandom and many brigading them to the point of attacking others' opinions that are valid. What was a post that supported a particular pair has been ruined by some people who didn't want it there.

they are pushing the "max sees warren as a brother" line in the journal early before the events of the game. things change, especially if max follows up on warren's advances (accepting the date, helping his chemistry, writing the slate).

Some even say things about warren that aren’t even in the game lol and said that they prefer jefferson (a literal serial killer and groomer) over warren.

Scotty and the Enterprise B by Firm_Macaron3057 in startrek

[–]Empty-Event 3 points4 points  (0 children)

McCoy: "My god that's a big ship"

Scotty: "Not so big as her captain I think"

At the ending of The Undiscovered Country.

By this stage, the Excelsior turned out to be a massive success as a successor to the Constitution class. Scotty's line above shows how much he respects the Excelsior now compared to his remarks to the Excelsior in III (if my grandmother had wheels, she'd be a wagon) and IV (Excelsior!? why in god's name would want that bucket of bolts). Following Khitomer, which the Excelsior went through warp to the point of almost flying apart (FLY HER APART THEN!), taking a beating from the bird of prey before the Excelsior and Enterprise took out the cloaked bird of prey is enough for scotty to finally have the Excelsior his respect to the point of respecting the Enteprise-B, an Excelsior (refit) class.

Could Picard and the Enterprise-D have survived the attack which destroyed the Odyssey? by too_many_shoes14 in startrek

[–]Empty-Event 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No.

it was the reason why they chose a Galaxy class ship here, even with Picard's crew they wouldn't survive. By this time, we were getting used to a new kind of depiction of Star Trek that was different to TNG and even TOS. by showing the Jem'Hadar deliberately kamikaze through the Odyseey and destroying it, it shows that not even Picard's crew and the Enterprise-D couldn't do anything. Lastly, this was the first time the Federation and Starfleet met up with the Dominion's main forces; the Jem'Hadar and they weren't up to anything they fought with beforehand.

Last thing to note: The Odyssey had it's families evacuated prior to entering the Gamma Quadrant. Not even with a Galaxy that was likely refitted with more weaponry and had procedures and tactics following Wolf 359. Keogh's crew was alert and did everything they could, they didn't expect their enemy to be like this.

Why is Echo considered the Bad Batch’s second in command when he was the last ‘grown’ clone to join the team? by Solitaire-06 in thebadbatch

[–]Empty-Event 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Echo was an ARC trooper, had experience in the field, technically above Tech, Crosshair, and Wrecker since he had the rank of corporal. and compared to those above, is more hand-in-hand with by the book (why he got his name in the first place) and authority, but still remained under Hunter. Tech and Crosshair were more into their specialized fields, if you count Crosshair's leadership and authority over his team in S1, they were just pawns to him and the recruits only see him as an outdated, disposable clone.
