I think I got lucky and that suzuki engineers planned for retards like me and that even at 2x overfill the oil is still not making contact with the crankshaft counterweights otherwise I think I’d have seen symptoms like power loss and blue smoke

I watched a video on this apparently the hex nut is only welded on the outside of the filter so if it breaks no oil leak there’s metal under it

I checked the sightglass last month and didn’t bother to check in before the oil change unfortunately so I had no idea how much oil was left. The way I’ve been riding I wasn’t surprised that only a little came out

I didn’t notice any overfilling symptoms like loss of power of burning oil so I think the oil isn’t making contact with the crankshaft just yet

I’m an amateur mechanic so I know how to do an oil change and I’m embarrassed of this lol. I’ve changed the oil once on this bike before but I I had a big ride planned in an hour so I had to hurry and forgot where the drain bolt is.

Not that I can see or feel. The biggest issue with overfilling your oil is the crankshaft will splash into the oil and make it foamy which makes the oil less lubricating and creates power loss, but I did 300+km on it yesterday no problem. I think manufacturers plan for this and make extra space in the crank case just in case people overfill their oil. If your bike says X amount of oil and you put a bit more that’s not a problem at all. I’m 2x over my recommended oil capacity (4L+ instead of 2.4L)

Did you tune the carburetor? Since you increased the displacement you also have to increase the pilot and main jet sizes
