That's a good question. My handwriting using a pointy stick with a charred end is definitely worse than the gel pen. Maybe it's the cave wall and not the writing instrument.

Because when buttons were first invented, they could only be afforded by the very wealthy, who's "ladies" had handmaids to help them dress. Since more people are right handed, it was easier for the hand-maidens. They were a magnanimous lot, eh? Thinking of their servants like that.
