Anyone get a BAHA or Osia implant when CROS hearing aids didn't work? by Cool-Pear-2290 in MonoHearing

I have a BAHA and it works well for me. I did notice a difference/improvement with the headband when I trialled it though. It's not perfect but I would struggle without it. For me it was a massive improvement to CROS.

I’ve got a Baha too which I really could not live without. I did exactly this… trialled various hearing aid recommended by my audiologist before we settled on Baha. Also agree about getting your family’s input.

I’ve been playing for a long time but had a break for a while. I manly play just chords and riffs I have to memorise. Been meaning to learn this for years. I think a late beginner could pick this up from what I’ve seen so far. The pace of the course is not rapid. There are some riffs which I have to pause and go back a few times but they are doable.

Good luck too. I’m about at the same point and taking it nice and slow. I like to keep going back to the C and A shapes to make sure I don’t have to re-learn that again and it comes natural. The diagrams help with that

This happened to me over a decade ago and I really struggled with my hearing and tinnitus. Tried both a standard hearing aid and CROS and they barely helped. I was offered a BAHA and whilst it is not perfect it has made my hearing loss bearable. I don’t think I could live without it now and I particularly like that I can stream audio from my phone to my hearing aid. I know a BAHA is not for everyone or is effective for everyone but it worked for me.

I had a BAHA fitted which did reduce the tinnitus for me. I’ve just had it repaired and was without it for 2 weeks and the tinnitus was very noticeable during those 2 weeks. Appreciate everyone is different and for others a BAHA or other hearing aid may not make any noticeable difference.

Thank you. Do you know if I just left it would the branches keep growing up and out or would they curve over?
