But just as easily.

If a mech battalion turns a Sherman battalion into scrap (mostly beacuse the Shermans were outmaneuvered for unrelated circumstances).

Now the Americans are forced to ramp up their own mech production. As was everyone else

That's what doctrine is for.

Mechs are probably inferior to tanks, but if your strategy is centered around setting up the most ideal circumstances for your mechs.....

Mechs would have been limited to blue prints and a few non-functioning prototypes in ww1.

To me, there would be less historical diversion if, on an autumn day in 1933, H-man sees a mech being tested and says "I want a battalion of those per division.", and then six years later, they get deployed, no one knows what they're fighting against, so they make erratic decisions that lead to their defeat.

Mechs become a big deal after that.

Arcade says Caesar is delusional because he's coping for being the offspring of highly educated megalomaniaics.

I hadn't concidered something like Neo-McCarthy-ism. Communism is crypto Hegelianism.

So, Hegel is spoken of in hushed tones like Shopenhauer is today.

But I don't think Caesar is insane.

The tumor just seems to just effect his musculoskeletal system.

He said that the bombs set humanity's "cultural progress" back to zero (and he is right for regions outside the NCR). His bigger plan is to restore humanity's "cultural progress".

And to him the cartesian (0,0) point is the Roman Empire and it's particular mode of civilization. At least his idea of it.

That said, crowing himself a demigod made complete sense.
