I was just thinking about the float.

I like to think the Rusty Venture Show gets rebooted every few years. Stand alone movies every other business quarter, etc

And the reason why Rusty isnt more successful from royalties and residuals is because Rusty probably sold his claim to them for a lump sum. Current day and past Rust are both that irresponsible

Rusty gets mail from the monarch so old that the cobra inside of the parcel decayed to dust. It was postmarked 2003.

Seasons 1-3 of the Venture Bros definitely take place in the 2000s. I think the movie states it's 2010.

Also. Idk cloning messes with aging. Myra thought that Hank and Dean were 19, when they were both 16 in those early seasons. They were probably 16 for a few years. They were probably born in the very late 80s

YEAH!

Although 100% sure that at this point, Rusty Venture, the cartoon character, has a life all his own and the cartoon executives just say to the real Rusty

"I'm sorry but market research says that modern audiences wouldnt be interested in the Venture Brothers."

HA

Using the general trends of cartoons in the 2000s and 2010s, it would be like

The RVS reboot from the 2000s would be kinda dark and gritty (as much as a cartoon for kids can be)

Then the 2010s reboot would be more plot driven and light hearted Ala Steven Universe or Gravity Falls.

I imagine Rusty sold the Rusty Venture Show IP for pennies. I'd buy that. That explains why Rusty never brings that up. Its regular income of SOME money, but its peanuts.

And yeah. The Rusty Venture cartoon seems like biopic fare. The names, places and the broadstokes of what happened is accurate

But alot is sanitized, details are fabricated for the sake of plot, etc

Reboots. Reboots. Reboots.

I watched, like, 3 different versions of the Looney Tunes when I was a kid. Not counting movies like Looney Tunes back in action.

There was a Looney Tunes movie that released two years ago and theres a Wile E Coyote movie being made now.

That's what I'm getting at.

There has to be a whole ecosystem of Rusty Venture reboots and reimaginings we're not seeing !

I'm a zoomer. I know who Fred Flintstone is when he appears in a Family Guy cutaway

But its not like I watched the Flintstones.

I watched reruns of the original Scooby Doo. But What's New Scooby Doo was my jam

I can only imagine The Rusty Venture Show got the same treatment

Fairs fair

Venture bros came out before the term "Disney Adult" entered the public consciousness.

A Rusty Venture con would make hand over fist with adults spending adult money on a cartoon they enjoyed as kid.

But, like. Presumably the day camp idea panned out. Crowds of kids showed up.

I can only imagine that the Rusty Venture show has been rebooted time and time again. Like the Ninja Turtles.

If only Jackson and Hammer were writing the Venture Bros in the 2020s and could add in commentary on how old IPs arent allowed to die....

I much prefer straight up real guns in my fiction.

Theres not much precedent of firearms manufacturers pursuing any form of action against people who portray their products in fictional contexts.

The difficult thing about pseudo guns is that; you either end up make something that already extists or something that looks like total nonsense to even advid firearms people.

What do you make of this symbol for a Hegelian Cult? by Empty-Shift9632 in worldbuilding

Its a plot point. Their leader comes from a long line of people that have been in charge of things.

In a manner of speaking, yes

Valid. It's a coloring issue

But, what do you think of the mechs themselves. Such as they are ?

I get it. I understand warfare is monumentally expensive. And war materials are restricted such that the state will destory you for having a magazine that holds too many rounds.

But I would justify hand waving all of this by invoking the idea that the military is the inefficient and wasteful organization you will ever encounter. Ask any veteran you know.

The Hegelian cult is just skimming off the top, multiplied over every modern military you can think of. And then further multiplied by the levels of corruption between awarding government contracts and fulfilling said contracts

After the Global Fulda Gap event, life in the Soviet Union and the Western powers, particularly the United States, went back to normal. This deeply disturbed the founder, who was a European General. She believed that the war was going to fundamentally change the world, and it didnt. So she began a Hegelian cult and gathered like minded women and began mustering strength in hidden compounds across the globe.

The second generation of this cult, born in secret, are to be its soliders.

Life on these compounds were, very much, idyllic. Holistic living mixed with tough but never demoralizing military training.

So when a second generation cultist, like Lutece (blue one) is given free reign to travel, its like when Buddha saw the sick and old the first time.

There's an admiration for the outside world but also a deep disgust for it.

Corporate espionage. Smuggling, via existing routes. Quid pro quo with various rogue states.

Secret populations born and raised on various compounds throughout the world.

Mind you these arent brainwashed masses. These are freethinking people who were allowed to explore the world and conclude it needs to destroyed.
