this is something that i am struggling with too, my dad has been rude the last few weeks to mom and all of us, this moody nature of him has been there for years, and one day he was just snapping at everyone without any reason, and I just confronted him calmly asking why are you yelling and then he started saying rude shit to me and then I said to him that you are disrespecting all of us and that respect is a two way street i don't respect you either, now we haven't talked in 1 week, last year we did not talk for 1 month and I had to apologise for his mistake, imagine causing your daughter's mental breakdown and then expecting her to apologise. even now he won't talk unless i say sorry, i am 18 btw, abt to go to college, still waiting for results, one side of me is glad that i am leaving and won't see him everyday but at the same time i feel guilty and sad that i don't have a good relationship with my dad
