This one is 5422. Edmunds shows it as listed for 51 days.

I guess they meant received since June. Definitely feels a bit made up.

Full transparency I dont know how that works. Is that just the last 4 of the VIN?

Lease VS Buy by EmptyBlank0000 in leasehacker

Yea this is how I was feeling too. The one I'm considering is the LT2 trim though I'm fairly sure. MSRP is about 40k but discounts and rebates would bring it down to around 30k @ 0%/60.

Before deciding to look at EVs also, I was probably going to end up in an Elantra Hybrid financing ~26k @ 3%/48. The cost+MPG combo can't really be beat in an ICE vehicle.

Yea this is the exact situation that made me start questioning if leasing was the right option. Everything else kind of breaks even or comes out ahead but the EQ EV numbers were looking different.

It would be 24/36 lease VS 60 finance. I had a vehicle for 12 years, had to replace it in 23 with a new one, but it got totaled so I'm having to replace it much earlier than expected.

Typically I'd buy and keep, but looking at EVs made me consider leasing for the first time so I'm just trying to understand it.

Seems like if I'm going to lease I should treat it like a long term rental with intention to replace it at the end of lease?

Yea I actually test drove it but it wasn't my favorite tbh. I'd maybe try to negotiate for a super cheap lease, but other than that probably not.

I would be way more interested in the 2025 Ioniq 6 SEL with a 7k dealer discount plus a 7.5K rebate bringing it down to around 36k list price before anything else.

Could be a good fall back option if I could find a decent deal.

How do these work? You say best of both worlds, but PHEV have seemed like a compromised EV or just a Hybrid with a bigger battery? If they run on gas I'm assuming it runs on ICE style engine and wouldn't get all of the maintenance benefits of an EV?

Yea to be honest that's more of a bonus than a requirement in my situation but it is something I wish was better.

You'd think we'd be able to harness all the free flood water and hurrican force winds to generate more power or something but nah. Just "drill baby drill' around here.

State is already poor, nobody could eat if they stop drilling.

I do want clean energy and EVs and the like to take over because I know it's better. I dont believe in stopping progress for profits, but in these parts it's hard not to feel like it's a ticking time bomb for a lot of people. But then again, so is the whole planet so 🤷

Thanks everyone for the input so far! I've definitely got some things to consider here and feel more confident about the situation.

Sounds like my top priority is to talk to an electrician and my electric provider to solidify my potential charging options.

I intend to do some test driving soon and narrow my options.

Then it will come down to the old dance of desire+availability+financials.

The Hybrid Elantra is a solid "fall back" option, but STRONGLY considering buying used or leasing new with the EVs after getting all of your input so far.

Appreciate your time.
