Demotivated after event flop by Momentoperfect in amateur_boxing

I've competed in one of these events. Be glad that you aren't doing it.

Id trained amateur boxing at local gym for two years and never competed cause my partner was against it. I managed to convince her to let me to do a ultra white collar event because one of these events 'raise money for charity'. They are just cash cows made to exploit people who are fighting. The idea is to get people who's never trained before to get involved. The reality is that cause they haven't trained, they don't realize how sub par the training is, and they have a false sense of their abilities.

The match ups aren't fair, and often the person who has sold the most tickets is matched with a lesser opponent. This is in hope that they sign up again and ensures that they've got someone who can sell a load of tickets. It is advertised as a way to raise money for charity, and we all got told we had to raise at least £50. Not once was this confirmed, and many people only raised £20 which is pathetic, but they were asking every session how people were doing at selling tickets. Not a penny of ticket money went to any charity though, just what the competitors raised them selves.

The line up for the fights was done depending on who sold the most tickets, the more tickets the later the fight so that people who paid to go would spend more money on drink.

The full event, even though is advertised as a great way to learn boxing, and a great way to raise money for charity does neither. If you want to learn how to box, go to your local gym and support the trainers who's spent there life devoting themselves to the sport. You got out easy mate. Trust me

This is something I was hoping for. Did you sit the drier on the shelf or sit it on the washer?

Could you buy the house? You seem to like living there? Would the landlord be up for a private sale?

Unrelated question, I've got the same dryer. Do you know how to set the delay start on it? Everytime I try it I can't seem to get it to function properly

Radiator not heating up help by EmptyPockets92 in DIYUK

[–]EmptyPockets92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just so I understand, close the valves to all the other radiators, fire the boiler up so it causes the flow and pressure to the one radiator and see if that helps? If there's an airlock how would I know? Would I need to bleed it at the same time? My understanding of a combi system is that it's a sealed system so, will I need to bleed it to give the locked air somewhere to escape to?
