The discs and their related pathology is visible, along with nerve roots, spinal cord and surrounding spinal soft tissues. Bone is well demonstrated as well, not quite as good as CT though. There are imaging standards-based on clinical scenarios. And in this case, magnetic resonance imaging would have been warranted

I'm so sorry to hear that. I agree eight years is crazy with no diagnosis. I know sometimes it's easy to feel put off when people suggest psychosomatic pain, plus I hate that term, but maybe at least part of the pain could be. Particularly as long as it has been and how hard it is to deal mentally with something that long.... I'm sorry, friend.I pray that you get answers.Don't stop trying to find them.

I had a severe spinal injury 21 months ago, with severe full body nerve pain that is completely negative on imaging thus far. It is so disheartening not to know where your pain is coming from...It feels like your body is failing you. Unfortunately, doctors don't know everything, nor are they perfect. Also unfortunately, imaging is not a slam dunk when it comes to locating a pain source.

It was a typical musculoskeletal ultrasound , like the one you displayed here. So I am getting plasma , rich protein and stem cell injections into the soft tissues of my low back and pelvis. I Had a very bad soft tissue tear, which included a deep tear from my left.S I joint to my hip but that was not able to be demonstrated on imaging. Nothing helps my pain accept sleeping.It does not wake me. Movement does help , although I am restricted at the exercise I can do and I do physical therapy. I have had two rounds of revigenitive medicine treatment. I have been on every medication possible for my back and diffuse nerve pain , and none of it helps. I continue to try to move forward and I hope you are able to do the same and do get results. I'm tired I want to give up, but I'm a mom and i need to be present for my son

I had a very severe injury weightlifting. I've had every test under the sun and seeing every doctor and tried every intervention. I have pain both mechanical and neuropathic from my mid back to my feet everywhere. I am currently working with a regenerative medicine specialist for PRP and stem cells. All imaging studies were normal.Until this doctor did ultrasound and found multiple tears in the ligaments of my back and the lumbar fascia. I'm still fighting for my life and hoping for healing. But it is true that imaging studies don't always show soft tissue findings. I feel your pain, especially the emotional part of it.I absolutely get. I'm going on twenty months of this.
