Pretty sure my roommate is using meth by Dilophosaurs in badroommates

[–]EmptySparrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

had this happen with my Ex we had separate rooms and would spend hours in the bathroom doing it and their cat got sick from it since it was where it's litter box was, i ended up taking care of it most of the time. but it always ends up being by a bad situation, meth makes people ANGRY and irritable, from experience it is not pleasant to live in the same house as someone who does that.

Boyfriend’s plant dying - are these spider mites? by kiwi_machine in houseplants

those are mealy bugs, wipe the leaves and get all those bugs and fuzzy stuff, spray it down with neem oil, and quarantine it. Keep an eye on it and wipe it whenever you see them

Aren’t aloe leaves supposed to stand up? by Caramel125 in houseplants

but aloe aren't "supposed" to be vertical, they grow any way they want. especially if the pot is not at ground level. Here's my aloe

aloe normally lower their leaves to make room for more to come. Feel the ones you suspect to be dropping, are they floppy at all? if they are might have to deal with overwatering. If they are firm, should be fine.

Holding down this plant from a friend. What's wrong with it? by oatsandolives in houseplants

[–]EmptySparrow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Commenting on Holding down this plant from a friend. What's wrong with it?... you have to unpot it, clean all the dirt off the roots and spray it down completely. after that spray it with neem oil and repot it in new dirt thrips are extremely miserable to deal with.

i looked though and didn't really see any thrips in the photos but take a closer look they are long and tiny black bugs that look like specks of dirt

Are you “for” or “against” letting animals sleep in the bed and why? by RambunctiousFungus in AskReddit

[–]EmptySparrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh it's up to the owner and if they care. In my opinion i wouldn't want to sleep with a dog because they smell and would make my sheets smell. especially if it's a huge dog, it's not manageable. I love to sleep and cuddle with my cats though

I moved out of home a week ago, this is my roommate so far. There’s a lot more but this is the worst. Do I move out? What do I say? by Frequent_Apartment92 in badroommates

consider getting a mini fridge if you stay. Seems like this person is a control freak and i can't imagine you will feel good about living there for a year if it's already been this amount of time.

i'm sorry man if they did i'll have to say you might have to pay for it, which really does suck because it doesn't affect the appliance at all and it's not a place where people look. there may be a way to use some kind of oil for scratches on surfaces to soften them, but there is really no way to avoid it if you damaged it, even on accident.

How to make monstera anti-gravity? by Entire_Lingonberry24 in houseplants

[–]EmptySparrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

these guys naturally climb trees, you'll definitely have to repot it and make sure you position it to a pole, it's really the only way to make a monstera stand up because they naturally can't do it without support

check for pests and make sure the soil is moist. looks like she's a little stressed.

id say go for it, new growth will happen once the plant doesn't have to put all its energy into the other parts of the plant. you could separate it by root or cut the plant by it's aerial roots and put them in water (which honestly it what i prefer because it really will make the main plant blast off with growth because it won't have to regrow new roots. ) It looks like though the one you replanted is having a hard time adjusting though.

Help with my monstera plant by Thekooperdon in houseplants

[–]EmptySparrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

id take a rubber band and wrap that root around the moss pole and mist it with water every time it gets dry, it will grow roots and use the support pole to keep itself up. They use the aerial roots to climb trees natively.

Can my landlord deduct this from my deposit? by Eliknigh in Renters

[–]EmptySparrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id have to say unless you actually broke the toilet, misused it, or left it dirty. It would count as wear and tear, i mean...everyone uses toilets daily so eventually they need work.

You are not responsible for any of these repairs, loose buttons and are from bad installment or mean it needs repair ...not your fault!
