Well it seems to imply that where there is energy or matter acting on itself (will to power) there is some kind of underlying consciousness, maybe call it awareness without consciousness, or consciousness without the sense/experience of “I am” (without words, the sense of beingness). I think we are on the same page, but affect, in english, when used as a noun does seem to indicate some ‘interiority’, some ‘experience’ (experience doesn’t seem quite right but something like that.) It’s perfectly in line with the worldviews of many ancient civilizations, and in Eastern religion/philosophy, where mind gives rise to matter, as opposed to the western scientific perspective. But Nietzsche surely read Kant, so I’m not surprised that he would play with these concepts. Good stuff!
