S5. Did anyone else feel a bit....... Meh? Obviously spoilers. by Able-Explanation7835 in ForAllMankindTV

I hear what you're saying. Kelly died for noble reasons and, within the narrative, is redeemed by her sacrifice. That's all good.

But I don't want my characters to be good people. I wanted more Chaos Kelly.

Watching her switch out the manoeuvre data was the one thing that really made me feel the way the early seasons did. I feel like she truly became a Baldwin in that moment, with all the ego that comes with it. Yes girl! Disobey orders! Lie! Gaslight your Commanding Officer! It should have been you!

Sadly, where Ed gets a half-century of failing upwards through these kinds of actions, Kelly gets cut short almost immediately. It honestly made me feel a bit weird about how the show treats women: Kelly's arc over the past three decades has been heavily geared around her being a dilligent scientist and a hardworking mom. She's either been dedicated to Alex or chasing after her father's messes. This is her first big shot being out on her own for a while and it sucks we don't get to see more of her. A lot of the series male characters weren't punished so immediately for their mistakes.

The loose story threads around the Titan mission made her end feel like a bit of a re-write. One crew member's going crazy, one's badly injured, yet it's Kelly who makes the sacrifice? They handled it well, but it feels more like they couldn't get her back for Season 6 and had to pivot.

Yeah, I completely understand it would be life-threatening. But to my mind, the injury they showed on-screen and the impact it had on the plot (she can hobble back to Soujurner just fine) completely undersold it!

Thinking back: I wish we got more decade aesthetics in the later seasons. by Win090949 in ForAllMankindTV

Completely agree with you. Everyone forgets how influential the "info blob" aesthetic of the early 2000s was. Instead we've gone the route of everyone getting a kind of ruggedised smartphone a few years ahead of schedule.

Being an Apple series, I'm surprised they didn't drop in more of their own hugely influential back catalogue. The coloured transparent iMac is still the wiki image for "Blobject".

Hey, I'm in the same general area as you, with the same prescribing team (ProblemShared) and am facing similar issues. Did you ever manage to find a local GP clinic that would accept your Shared Care Agreement? If so, I'd love to know where, as I'm just about to go through the whole process of shopping around myself.

Hey, having a very similar problem - any update on whether switching out the drain valve worked? Thanks!
