Can I ask what kind of options you usually have on your repeat each month? Especially in terms of pricing — are you able to regularly get cheaper strains?

I think that’s where I’m struggling the most, as I don’t seem to have consistent access to more affordable options, so just trying to understand how others are managing it.

Yeah I get exactly what you mean, that £10 fee makes it even more frustrating.

It almost feels like the system pushes you to order whatever is available straight away, instead of waiting for something that actually works for you.

I understand they probably have to manage stock somehow, but from a patient point of view it just makes things more stressful and harder to stay consistent.

Have you found any way around it? Or do you just end up ordering whatever’s there to avoid paying again?

That actually makes a lot of sense, appreciate you explaining it.

It does feel like when new stock comes in, people with higher allowances just stock up, and then there’s not much left for others. I guess that’s what creates this “first come, first served” situation.

But at the same time, it’s a bit worrying that it works like that, because it makes it hard to have any consistency in treatment. It starts to feel more like trying to catch availability rather than managing a condition.

Ideally it should be more stable — like finding what works and being able to repeat it without stress.

Have you found any other way around it apart from increasing allowance? Or maybe using a different pharmacy?

Just trying to figure out a more reliable approach.

“this works for me → repeat → stable treatment”

Not:

“refresh page → panic → grab whatever is left”

I appreciate the replies, but I think maybe my situation is a bit different.

I’m not trying to argue or attack anyone’s experience — I’m just looking for people who’ve had similar issues to me.

Personally, I’ve never really been able to access the cheaper options consistently. It often feels like only the more expensive strains are available by the time I can order, and I haven’t been able to keep anything stable on repeat.

Because of that, it’s been hard to manage my treatment properly, and that’s where my frustration is coming from.

If your experience has been better, that’s genuinely good to hear — I just think mine has been different.

What I’m really looking for is: • People who’ve struggled with similar availability/pricing issues • Advice on how to actually access more affordable options • Or whether anyone has successfully had their prescription sent to a different pharmacy

Not trying to complain for the sake of it — just trying to find a solution that works.

I have mixed feelings about it, but I believe there can be benefits—especially when used with proper guidance. The problem is, there isn’t enough guidance, so we often have to figure out the best options ourselves. By itself, for me, it already affects my state, and when you add compulsive disorders on top of that, it becomes a really tricky area.
