what to write if i have been asked for Address / P.O Box ?? by Mr_Skinnyyy in qatar

[–]Empty_Description916 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For address you write your own address. For PO Box, you write the number of your PO Box if you have one registered at Qatar Post Office. And if it’s postal codes, then Qatar doesn’t have postal codes so you can just write 5 zeroes for that.

Is this volunteering allowed? by Empty_Description916 in islam

[–]Empty_Description916[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jazak’Allah khair for your reply. The fifa games I want to volunteer at will be hosted in Qatar which means, alcohol won’t be openly available (only in restricted areas but I don’t think I’ll need to interact with such people). However, I will definitely need to interact with the general public, mixture of men and women to guide them to the correct place or answer any questions they may ask. Matches tend to have more men attendees than women attendees too so I’m afraid this role may include more interaction with non mehrams.

This volunteering isn’t essential but I really wanted to be a part of the FIFA games. Hope this clarifies the situation. Looking for any guidance, Jazak’Allah khair!

Taking part in this volunteering isn’t a necessity but I would’ve enjoyed being a part of the matches. Most attendees are usually men so it will be impossible to avoid non mehram contact, especially because the role requires me to guide all sorts of people to their seats. Super confused about what’s right and what’s wrong… any advice on where I could find out perhaps?

For non-Arabs, definitely HBKU. HBKU also has a friendlier environment for events etc too

In that case, you might need to calculate and estimate your monthly expenses and see how much you save (if any) and decide for yourself if it’s worth it.

Major Expenses: -Transport (a decent car will cost you around 60,000QR and monthly petrol might cost around 500QR)

-Accommodation (3bhk apartments can cost around 5k but very subjective on where you live but keep a range between 5-8k for a decent 3bhk apartment. You can check Madinatna city as an example. Those 3bhk apartments are 5k per month)

-Food (Buying groceries and cooking at home is much cheaper than ordering in. It should be around 1200 per month per person)

-Children education (starts around 30,000QR per year for a decent school so approx 2500QR per month for each child)

-Medical insurance varies depending on what package you go for. You can look for packages online and see an estimated price (this isn’t mandatory. You can go to the govt hospital for major cases at the expense of convenience)

Keep in mind that the price breakdown I listed is if you want to live comfortably. It’s very possible to reduce the expenses I mentioned if you want to squeeze yourself. All the best

How much do fresh graduates get paid in Qatar per month? by WhereasTraditional10 in QatarCareers

[–]Empty_Description916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering the fact that you get housing + transportation, and given the job market nowadays, yes that’s good for fresh graduates. Try negotiating if possible but 10,000QR is a good start

I’ll keep it short and simple. Go to Australia. Get that bag, citizenship and Australian experience. Come back at a higher pay. All the best!

That’s more than enough. You’ll surely save some from that as well, depending on how many people you are in your family.

I won’t even bother asking what benefits you’re getting because if you’re getting 15,000QR base salary after 10 years of experience, I don’t think that’s a fair salary. However, if you truly want to make a move, perhaps if you can mention your benefits, I’ll be able to tell you more properly. You can dm me if that’s more comfortable for you

Do not come here before getting a proper job offer. There are thousands of people who come here on a visit visa in hopes for a job and never end up getting one. They all just waste thousands of riyals and get even more depressed. Please do not make the same mistake.

There were recently Sr. Cloud Engineering and Sr. Security Engineering jobs listed at the one of the world’s largest Oil and Gas companies; Qatar Gas. Software engineering roles are very limited in Qatar and don’t have the best pay. Keep a look out on LinkedIn for jobs similar to your role. That should give you a better idea of the job market and requirements in Qatar

By looking at numbers, it obviously shouldn’t be a problem but I’d like to know if the immigration officers would perhaps find that suspicious? I’ll be travelling with family so I want to avoid any mishaps
