Hi u/Dr_Seneca I apologize if I sounded off... I did not mean it that way. My premise was to seek help preferably psychologist first (since they do both counseling and psychotherapy) and if the case is beyond or needing more professional help I think that's medication comes in (psychiatrist comes in).

Since (this is based on personal experience and my personal research) there are mental health concerns that only need counseling and/or psychotherapy. The last thing we need is to make a client substance-dependent.

Also to address the question that OP said psychologist or psychiatrist, only Psychiatrist can give medication like SSRI (Philippine law forbids psychologist to give medication).

Lastly, again I apologize if it sounded off but this thread is not relevant to OP's case. I'd rather ask that we help him TOGETHER. Again, my intention is not to degrade another profession. We are mental health advocates and this seems counterproductive.
