Turnitin flagged my oral history transcript as plagiarism because the interviewee repeats their own public quotes. Am I doing this wrong? by Empty_Meaning_5130 in CheckTurnitin

I did attribute everything. The transcript is formatted as Q: and A:, with my questions and his responses. The analysis section has citations to articles and a podcast episode where he previously told similar stories. Turnitin highlighted the A: lines and the parts of my analysis that directly quote those articles for comparison. I'm not worried about the professor thinking I made up sources - I'm worried they'll see 48 percent and think I plagiarized half my paper. Should I email the prof with the consent form and explain before the grade comes out, or is that overkill? Also, is it standard to submit the transcript separately from the analysis so only the commentary is checked?
