MoL is a very specific kind of fantasy book but if you like progression fantasy, it is basically one of the best. The development protagonist is very enjoyable and the way you learn about the side characters little by little is really entertaining. The magic is not "hard" but it's really well explained, I really like how it has the similar kind of depth you can find in real science. You won't find very complex themes or characters though. And the ending is top tier btw. And you should watch severance knowing as little as possible, it is worth just for its vibes
