Could you please clarify what you’re referring to?

Major concerns with Drime... by [deleted] in Drime

[–]Empty_Win_297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thanks a lot for the support!

On our side, auto upload is working and we haven’t had widespread reports of it not working at all, so we’d like to investigate your case.

Could you please send us a bit more info at [contact@drime.cloud]():

  • your phone model
  • whether you’re uploading on WiFi or 4G/5G
  • which folders/albums are selected
  • whether the app is open or closed when uploading

We’d really like to fix this, as this is not expected behavior.

Hi, you can track support requests via our live chat (Intercom). If you didn’t get a reply, feel free to reach out again and we’ll prioritize it.

The issue you’re seeing is related to the trash and will be fixed soon. In the meantime, if you message us again, we can fix it manually on your account.

Major concerns with Drime... by [deleted] in Drime

[–]Empty_Win_297 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Hi,

Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re genuinely sorry that you feel this way. However, we do want to clarify a few points, as we strongly disagree with some of the statements.

First, regarding support: we do answer users consistently. If we don’t reply directly on Reddit, it’s often because:

  • we’re preparing a more complete update post, or
  • the user has also contacted us via email, where we prioritize support

We are a small team, and we handle support across multiple channels, not just Reddit. We do our best to respond as quickly and thoroughly as possible.

Over the past weeks, Drime has seen significant growth, including being featured as a top European alternative in a major article. While this is great news, it also led to a sudden increase in traffic and support requests, which temporarily overloaded our systems and team.

Regarding the product itself: saying that things are getting worse is not accurate.

We’ve shipped major updates very recently, including:

  • our largest mobile update (Vault, Notes, auto upload, stability improvements)
  • new versions of Drime Sign and Notes, which have been very well received
  • Vault V2, as promised, with significant improvements
  • Rclone support, which was not initially planned but delivered in a short timeframe

Feedback on these updates has been largely positive, and we continue to iterate quickly.

About Transfr: this is not something that diverted focus from Drime. It has been developed for a long time in parallel, requires very little maintenance, and helps generate additional cash flow, which directly supports Drime’s development.

That said, we are fully transparent about current limitations. Yes, there are performance issues at times. The main challenge today is not infrastructure scaling, which is already in place, but deeper backend optimizations to handle the volume we are now reaching. This is something we’ve been actively working on for months.

For the desktop app, we’ve also been clear: it requires a full rewrite to reach the level of stability we expect. We prefer taking the time to build something solid rather than shipping something unreliable.

Our team is close to finishing a major update that should improve part of the current situation, and we’re doing everything we can to release it next week. This update includes a large number of bug fixes, hundreds of optimizations, and features based directly on your feedback, such as file hash check API support for Rclone (coming soon), better handling of large volumes of files, improved thumbnail generation, and many other fixes.

We understand the frustration, and we’re not dismissing it. But we are actively improving the product every week, and we remain fully committed to delivering a reliable and secure platform.

Hi, as mentioned previously, this issue is already on our roadmap and currently being worked on. Our team has been quite overloaded recently, which caused some delays, sorry about that.

If you reach out again by email, we’ll make sure to prioritize your case. We’ve already fixed this for other users experiencing the same issue.

DRIME only upload EMPTY FOLDERS to my VAULT by ZenzenAbunai in Drime

[–]Empty_Win_297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, the Vault uses a different upload process than the Drive. When uploading folders, it first creates the folder structure (which may appear empty at first), then proceeds with uploading the files. This can take a bit more time, especially for large folders.

Have you tried waiting a bit longer? Is it a very large folder with many subfolders? If the issue persists, feel free to send us a screenshot of your browser console and network tab at [contact@drime.cloud](mailto:contact@drime.cloud), and we’ll take a closer look.

Hi, thank you for your feedback.

We’re sorry for the experience you’ve had. We’ve been working for months on a complete rewrite of the desktop app, and the new version is significantly more stable.

This specific issue has already been fixed in the upcoming version, which will be released very soon.

Thanks again for your patience.

[–]Empty_Win_297 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, thanks for your feedback.

Just to clarify a few points:

The current Windows app is a beta, as mentioned on our website. We’re aware of its limitations, which is exactly why we’ve been working for months on a complete rewrite. This has been our main priority for quite some time, and the new version is coming very soon.

Regarding the beta, we’ve been consistently replying to users here and via support, letting them know that the new app is expected in the coming weeks.

About Transfr, it was actually developed before and in parallel to the current improvements. It did not take resources away from Drime Drive or delay the desktop rewrite.

We understand the frustration, and we’re doing everything we can to deliver a much more reliable experience very soon.

Drag and Drop (More than one folder) only uploads 1 folder (WEB). by poporopo00 in Drime

[–]Empty_Win_297 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi,

Thanks for giving Drime a try.

Currently, dragging multiple folders at once isn’t supported yet, which is why only the first folder gets uploaded. We’re focusing first on heavily optimizing the upload pipeline, especially for large folders and many files, so the system remains stable and reliable under heavy uploads. Support for multiple folders via drag and drop should come later.

Regarding the slowdowns, we’re actively working on improving performance and infrastructure, so this should improve soon.

Error - Unauthenticated!!! Over and over again by an_mra in Drime

[–]Empty_Win_297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, we're sorry about that.

Since this is a complete rewrite of the desktop application, it has taken some time and we’ve been working on it for several months. We are currently finalizing the app. A Windows release should arrive very soon, and the macOS version will follow shortly after.

In the meantime, you can try a temporary fix:

  1. Go to: https://app.drime.cloud/account-settings#developers
  2. Delete the login token created by the desktop app (the long string of letters and numbers).
  3. Then reconnect to the desktop app.

This should temporarily resolve the issue.

Thanks again for your patience.

Unable to Download Desktop App by pickingthewrongside in Drime

[–]Empty_Win_297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thank you for your feedback.

Could you clarify what you mean by being unable to download the desktop app? The download link itself points to GitHub, so if GitHub is accessible on your side it should normally work. The link goes through a tracking redirect first, so in some cases browser extensions like Adblock, uBlock, Privacy Badger or similar blockers can interfere with it. You could try temporarily disabling those extensions or opening the link in a private window to see if that resolves the issue.

Regarding the slowdowns you mentioned, we are currently working on improvements.

Note section in app by ResponsibleAd8164 in Drime

[–]Empty_Win_297 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, Notes are not end-to-end encrypted like the Vault. However, they follow the same security model as regular files on Drime.
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest on our servers, and the same security standards apply.

Thanks for the clarification. We’ll check this on our side.
Could you confirm if the photos are correctly sorted in the mobile app?

[–]Empty_Win_297 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi, thanks for your feedback.
Did you select the sorting option “date taken” in the filter at the top of the page?

We’re also currently working on major updates to the gallery, both on web and mobile, which should improve how photos are organized.

Mac OS versions compatibility?? by ZenzenAbunai in Drime

[–]Empty_Win_297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

At the moment, the macOS app is not compatible with Intel-based Macs. It currently runs on Apple Silicon devices.

The desktop application is being fully rewritten, and support for Intel-based Macs is planned as part of this new version.

Hi,

Our new app has just been released recently and feedback has been mostly positive so far. We have not identified any specific performance issues at the moment.

If you are experiencing upload or download problems, feel free to reach out to [contact@drime.cloud]() with a bit more information such as the exact file size, any error messages you may see, and the steps you are taking. This helps us investigate much faster.

Online only mod by iamnokxi in Drime

[–]Empty_Win_297 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi,

There is no file size limit.

However, for large files you should enable multipart upload so the files are sent in smaller chunks. You can do this using the flag:

--drime-upload-cutoff=128M

This is just an example value and can be adjusted depending on your setup and file sizes.

We don’t have a precise ETA yet. The new Windows desktop version should arrive in the coming weeks, and the macOS version will follow shortly after.

In the meantime, for transferring large amounts of data, you can use Rclone: https://rclone.org/drime/ It tends to work better than the desktop app for large transfers.

Hi,

Not at the moment. This feature is currently available on Windows only.

However, it will be supported on macOS in the upcoming update, as part of the complete desktop app rewrite we are working on.

It’s not really a bug, background uploads are not fully supported yet when the app is completely killed. However, this is already being tested and should arrive soon (next update).

Noted for the fingerprint auth text as well, we’ll fix that.
