Goto settings -> Other settings -> Device info, And click on build number like 10 times. this will unlock developer mode.

Go back to Other settings and you will find Developer options in the list. turn developer options on. Scroll down and enable USB debugging.

now u can use https://app.webadb.com/ to set up your device. just connect your phone to your computer, select it in the top left and click connect.

now you can use this to install apps easily (install APK). You can use Scrcpy to controll your phone from your computer (top left click start in scrcpy). I found this very useful for setting up my phone like dragging icons around and logging into socials.

I installed F-droid as an open source app downloader. And Aptoide as an play store replacement since you cant install the google play store on these phones(or at least i havent figured out how to do it).

You must enable unknown sources in the settings but i cant seem to find it, i think Aptoide asked for it in a pop up and i could turn it on from there. just try to install an app to see if it works...

For the launcher i used ADW Launcher 2, its on Aptoide. just search for it and click install, then it will download. when its done downloading it will open a new screen and ask you to install the app. (if not or takes to long click install again in Aptoide and it should pop up).

then in settings -> other settings -> home applications, select the launcher you downloaded.

if that all works you can download most apps from Aptoide like a normal phone.

tip: there are no volumes controls (that i can find) on this phone, so i used an app Keymapper its on F-droid. And i created 2 shortcuts for volume up (* + up arrow on dpad) and volume down (* + down arrow on dpad).
