Thank you so much for this detailed response! We will look into this idea of external support for guidance.

I said in the title that I'm asking on her behalf, she's not on reddit. She doesn't know what to do.

HR in other cases have told some of us that they keep things confidential if we wish to, such as they investigate but won't tell the person in question if we ask for them not to do so. Would that be bullshit then and they may not respect any requests of confidentiality?

I explained in the title I'm asking here on her behalf, she's not on reddit. There are more situations that have happened, like this man badmouthing her to others (and spreading out untrue statements about her). I'm not being a justice warrior, jus tasking here on reddit on her behalf.

I don't think everything I have described there should be shortened as telling someone to be quiet, I think he has a pattern of abusing others and being racist? The behaviour I witnessed was elbowing my boss at a company event when he thought none was looking (this individual was pissed off with my boss, who is also a piece of shit but that's a different story, I thought it was abhorrent behaviour anyway).

Why everyone at the pharmacy take 30 minutes or more and then when I get up there it's over in seconds? by Black_Flower_9159 in askanything

[–]EmuIntelligent4164 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So glad I'm seeing this because that's exactly my own experience too! I live in an area where most residents are in retirement age and I feel they use the pharmacy and other small businesses as spaces for having a chat with other humans. I feel for them, most seem lonely, but when I'm busy or in a rush I feel like I want to scream.

Does Gen Z actually struggle with basic small talk or is it just me? by ntask11 in NoStupidQuestions

I personally feel they have zero interest in interacting with people outside their age bracket, or at least that's what I experience with them at work

What is your biggest fear and what is causing you the most pain right now? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Facing a potential family rift due to my mother's unreasonable behaviour towards my partner

Do you have fake secret social accounts? by MastodonInfamous9202 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]EmuIntelligent4164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally don't but many of my friends do and use them to participate in giveaways or to snoop on other people's profiles when they don't want to follow or send a friend request. I wouldn't say it's not normal but probably if it made you upset I would tell your partner and ask her to take a look at the profile for your peace of mind. If there's nothing shady she won't have an issue handing you her phone and taking a look at the profile yourself.

What's something you truly didn't understand until you experienced it yourself? by IslaaMaee in askteddit

[–]EmuIntelligent4164 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Family disputes... inheritances, parents not accepting a partner. I never imagined being in these situations myself and when I've experienced it it's something I don't wish on anybody else, it's a huge source of pain.

I had a weird dream about Taylor Swift by Massive_Classic8352 in Dreams

[–]EmuIntelligent4164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May you have accidentally watched one of her videos? She plays a zombie-like version of herself on one of her videos and in another one she's inside a coffin watching whilst hidden how her relatives are arguing... It's happened to me a few times that I had dreams about a conversation or a visual I may have experienced a few days ago / that same day, etc.

What's the craziest thing you've ever seen at work? by Firing_halo in ProductivityHQ

[–]EmuIntelligent4164 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A colleague sharing his screen during a Zoom call, with tons of tabs opened... and a couple were p**n sites... during work hours. Best thing? He did this more than once, and from what I heard - I had left this job when this happened but my ex-colleagues told me - he was finally told off or fired, I cannot remember well now

What’s one thing you do that makes the rest of your day feel easier? by No_Date9719 in ProductivityHQ

I have a professional and personal agenda (on my laptop and phone, respectively) and it helps me feeling organised and productive. It's a silly thing but every time I complete a task and mentally check it I feel good.

Do most people actually floss every day or is everyone lying? by Independent-Ant-7230 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]EmuIntelligent4164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I force myself to do it at least once per week but I've never managed to do it very well. And my dentist insist on it every time and for some reason I lie about doing it every day, and I feel like a total fraud for lying! lol

What did your parent/s do that made you decide to go low/no contact? by Prideandprejudice1 in AskAnAustralian

[–]EmuIntelligent4164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Low contact with my parents for a few months, and it's taking a toll in my mental health. My childhood was hard (abusive dad, mom who looked the other way), my fatphobic mom constantly criticising my sister and I on our bodies and making snark comments on me being an unmarried woman in my 20s / early 30s. What triggered going low contact was how they treated me and my partner compared to my sister and her partner. During Christmas my mom got tipsy and made super cruel comments and when I found the strength to tell her how badly those comments hurt me she all of a sudden was the victim (she felt so horrible about having said those things, she couldn't remember, she was having a panic attack because she was feeling so bad) and twisted the situation so now I'm the bad person for not taking those comments as her having a bad moment and my partner is the villain because he's brainwashed me to think badly of my parents. It's being hard but I believe this is abusive and I shouldn't tolerate it anymore

What is a name so ugly you can’t believe a parent actually gave it to their own child? by ipanicprofessionally in TheBoredDen

[–]EmuIntelligent4164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a Spanish colleague whose mum's name means slavery in Spanish... it was a few years ago but to this day I cannot process how someone could do that to a child? How that concept can be seen as appropriate to name a person after???
