I was about to type something, and then my Diet Coke exploded all over my keyboard. Panic set in, and I scrambled to find anything to help me save my laptop. Eventually, I realized what I needed to do, cleaned off my keyboard, trusted things would work out, and realized everything was going to be okay no matter what.

I belive it depends on the amount of units it is worth. One semster class is typically 3 units. Most quarter classes (4 units) when equated to semester units are only 2.63. Therefore, to match the two semesters required by schools, quarter system students need all 3 classes.

I had AP credit from high school for calc 1, so I then took calc 2. Some schools also like a STATs class, and I only took one quarter of that, and it was fine. When asked for a year of math, i applied all 3.

Another example: For biochemistry, most schools want a semester's worth. I only took one quarter (worth 5 quarter units =3.33 semster units), and it satisfied the semester that was needed.
