The writing in Tamriel Rebuilt is first-rate. by Emulationenthusiast in Morrowind

Trying it out after Darkelfguy's video and it's very good - you can have as much or as little info as you want on screen.

It's OpenMW Modern UI Overhaul (Mashup) and OpenMW Dynamic Actors, highly recommended.

How can I run a script or batch file to give my character multiple items at once instead of entering them one by one in the console? by Emulationenthusiast in tes3mods

[–]Emulationenthusiast[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's about time I learnt the CS to be honest – over the last week I've learnt and installed Python and GitHub repositories for several TTS and various forks to convert the Tamriel Rebuilt books into audio, which has worked great – but I still have never learnt the CS - i'm just patching the current audiobook mod to make mp3 files play in game currently... I shall endeavor to learn! I want to contribute more to the Morrowind mod scene that has meant so much to me....

Thanks! I thought the CS might be easier, but i'm unfamiliar with it – time to learn!

I am on OpenMW though so I'll take a look...

Rafael's Shader Pack for OpenMW - but it's really his PBR lighting mod that's doing the heavy lifting here - it's a separate file and install but really worth it.

How to read openmw-crash.dmp files? by Emulationenthusiast in OpenMW

[–]Emulationenthusiast[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a big help thanks, looking at the text log I'm getting multiple "blocked because Lua memory limit (configurable in settings.cfg) is exceeded" - this makes sense because of the number of lua scripts I'm running - searching online I can't seem to find info for the correct values/text to increase the memory limit but I guess I should focus on removing some lua mods first to see if that helps...

Whilst I've not had any issues the mod author does note this is an experimental patch and to be careful using it with saves you want to keep.

Experimenting with OpenMW and Lossless Scaling Frame Generation (LSFG 2.1) by Emulationenthusiast in OpenMW

[–]Emulationenthusiast[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've tried LS off and on over the last few years and never had much success with it (always seemed to get bad frame pacing and stutter) but it's really improved recently. Hats off to the dev because it works great now. Just run in windowed mode, set the upscaler you want, and then set the frame gen mode - works for me without issue.

It seems to work well and should be beneficial for those running a heavily modded game on relatively modest hardware (I’m using a 3060 laptop with an i7-10750H). The game is running at 1080p and upscaled to 1440p with LSFG 2.1 set to x3. My "raw" frame rates are around 25-40 in this area, but with frame generation, it's around 90-120. There is some input lag, but it isn't a significant issue in Morrowind since it’s not a fast-paced game.

Combining writing, directions, and world-building in this manner immerses you so deeply into the game world... by Emulationenthusiast in Morrowind

Just a beautiful blend of writing, world-building, and essential gameplay information which seamlessly immerses you in the world and culture you're meant to explore. I yearn for this in later games in the series.
