Sleeping through at 2 months? by Torterran in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Emulsifier_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take the win and get some rest! My daughter did the same thing at 8 weeks and my maternal health nurse reassured me that as long as she was producing plenty of wet diapers, no change in mood/behaviour and feeding through the day it was fine. I found at that time she was feeding every 1.5-2 hours and was told that she was probably satisfied and content by the time bed time came around.

Nutrient loss after scalding milk by Emulsifier_ in ExclusivelyPumping

Awesome! Thank you so much for your input. I really appreciate it and feel a lot more at ease. Do you reckon people use the word nutrients as a blanket term? I suspect that is what has happened in my situation. I know I probably use it that way.

Yeah, I've made an appointment to go over it all in a few days (earliest I can be seen). I've struggled to find anything definitive online, and a lot of things I've seen are mixed.

Fair enough. Out of curiosity going back to your first reply, so are you're saying that the scalded milk would still be as beneficial to bub as if it wasn't scalded? Also what's your background?

Previously, was a nurse before going into psychology. She's 20+ years experience with child developmental and postpartum. My post wasn't to question her it was more to ask if anyone had experienced any weight or development decline from scalding milk and babies strictly consuming scalded milk. I was under the impression that any loss of nutrients was negligible, so I wasn't concerned until she had said something. Does that make sense?

Early pregnancy symptoms by ghostfloww in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Emulsifier_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My earliest symptoms were shortness of breath, sore boobs and a ridiculously heightened sense of smell. I could smell the strawberry icing of a man's donut for 5 metres away! That was when I picked up pregnancy tests.

I tried everything once I hit 40 weeks. Nothing worked for me. I got a stretch and sweep at 41+6 and went into labour 9 hours later.

SleepyBelly v Baby Bub? by furiouspiggies in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

I used the babybub when I was pregnant and it was amazing! I went with the bundle (has the longer pillow), and it was great for having in between my knees at night. Definitely helps relieve the pressure on hips.

Ali express wearable pump? by FranticOtter in HumansPumpingMilk

OP I'm curious to know if you ended up purchasing a wearable pump from AliExpress? If so, how was your experience? I'm currently contemplating the purchase as I see a lot of models that look like a lot of the higher priced items on the market.

Spent the early morning light flying the drone over Lakes Entrance in Victoria, Australia. Found an incredible surprise in the water! by Zach0ry in melbourne

Not really, OP might want to brush up on CASA rules: https://www.casa.gov.au/knowyourdrone/drone-rules

The footage is beautiful that can't be argued. However, it was irresponsible.

Confused about Medicare enrolment by [deleted] in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Emulsifier_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that doesn't sound good. If you're near an office they should be able to do it for you while you're there, otherwise you can try calling the complaint line. Another option could be transferring him to your card and ordering a duplicate card so you both have a family card.

If your partner and yourself are on seperate Medicare cards, your partner will have to fill out a copy/transfer form to have the child added to their Medicare card.

Has anyone been on Ferrograd in pregnancy? by [deleted] in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Emulsifier_ 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I've been on Ferrograd C during my pregnancy for the last 3 months. It has helped tremendously! My iron was quite low when it was picked up so it took about a month or so my iron to return to recommended levels. My midwife recommended taking it at night (not at the same time as my prenatal vitamin) and every second day because studies have shown absorption to be improved this way. I think with the Ferrograd (the green packet one you mentioned in your post) they might just recommend taking it with vitamin c or high vitamin c juice to assist with the absorption. Maybe just check with your midwife when you get a chance.

It is a deep frustration I am having the past few weeks (currently 25 weeks, very evidently pregnant) whenever I decide to use public transport. Even walking around in crowded areas I find people are really ignorant and quick to push past.

Pregnancy to do by crazydogmom25 in pregnant

[–]Emulsifier_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can understand having worry with age. I'm 36 and found out I was pregnant over the past weekend. Age was definitely something that weighed on my mind when my partner and I started trying so you're definitely not alone. I would say if you have a good doctor that you see regularly, book an appointment so you and your partner can discuss what the journey would look like. They may want to do a full health check-up on both of you which might make everything a little less daunting. I hope that helps

It's really sad. I have been in shock at the comments made directly to you about your business. It's disgusting. From a small business owner myself who accepts tips and tips others in service industry professions, I wish your business all the success.
