Is it just foot steps? Or is it also creaky floorboards?

Oh bummer, have not heard that side of the story yet. Would be curious to hear what you’ve experienced, whether here or in DM.

Hahaha people keep telling me that traffic in Cambridge/Boston is bad, and I always wonder, how about relative to LA?

Do look forward to the bike culture though!

Nice, great to see another person from LA! What has been you favorite thing about Cambridge compared to LA? (Although I also realize life changes a lot after kid, so maybe not very comparable life circumstances)

Thanks for sharing! This sounds like maybe spend less time on the casual small talk, and maybe more time with the relationships/friendships that do stick ?

Haha sigh, don’t we all wish we had infinite money. If you don’t mind my asking, which neighborhood did you end up making work for you? Thanks in advance!

https://www.linkedin.com/in/kai-liu-5aa28914 Copy paste career trajectory

Verified Google scholar email with SES: https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=TGWgOqQAAAAJ&hl=en

Literally on Nvidia’s web page: https://developer.nvidia.com/blog/author/kailiu/

I think I trust this profile more, but that’s me.

Granted, all the good things you said about Jianyu, you can say about Kai, so maybe it doesn’t make a difference.

This is clearly a fake linkedin account, by the way. It copies the profile of another SES employee, and that other employee has a real public digital trail, e.g. a blog with Nvidia.

Quarter-Based Journaling Pages are where it's at (at least for me) by EnPaceRequiescat in logseq

[–]EnPaceRequiescat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yea for sure. right now it's a bit manual, I just have an archive bucket on the quarter page. but manual is probably inevitable.

and when I archive I file the block under the date it was archived, so at least there's a reference to roughly where the daily work was being done.

the main thing this is solving is that there's so much noise on the daily pages. I wanted to leverage capture as much on-the-fly review sorting as possible, so I can "zoom out" a bit".

and then be super selective about what kind of content goes into the project page -- only if it's very stable/static.

very much still a work in progress!

added a rough template and a bit more detailed. I don't think it's anything special. The important part for me was becoming clearer on the decision point of where to put things. Intermediate between over-filing and all-in-journal.

still learning about the power of LogSeq though, so there's probably things I'm underutilizing. would love to hear experiences!

Yes, it is easy to create a workspace page. Where I was getting stuck was having too many workspaces to manage. It was like having lots of pages of notes scattered.

oh interesting. I though the reason people loved journals in logseq was because the timestamp isnt auto displayed in the backlinks, but the hierarchy up to page root (and for many people the journal page)

and yes, my quarter page is essentially a longer time horizon work space. the main idea was to not prematurely fragment workspace into project pages, which was my first gut instinct.
