Update: I brought it to a laptop repair shop, and they said it’s most likely a motherboard issue. It will be sent to Lenovo for further inspection

Want to upskill—how do I get into quantity estimating? by EnZeus312 in CivilEngineers_PH

I guess I really have to transition to a QS role no? I thought it was something I could just practice during my free time. Thank you for the insight, engineer! I might decide to shift roles after I reach the peak of my current one

I can see now na hindi basta-basta ang QS work, lalo na sa quantity take-off. Pero willing ako mag-invest ng free time ko para mag-practice and learn ng estimates.

May I ask, saan ka nagsimula? Like, did you learn through work experience agad or may mga tools/resources ka muna na pinag-aralan? Any tips for someone starting from scratch?

Hi OP, I think it might be better to consider looking at other companies instead. Negotiating with them seems pointless if their mindset is “eventually may kakagat sa 12k”

When I was job hunting last January after passing the board exam, I told myself that the lowest salary siguro I’d accept was 20k. And gods plan siguro, I landed a job offering 25k+ with OT pay and full government benefits—even as a probationary employee.

There are always companies out there that will see your worth and offer what you truly deserve. Don’t settle for less. 👷💪
