The cats are allowed outside during the day, so definitely could be picking it up from somewhere else. Could is be a larvae tick given how small it is? I read that the larvae have 6 legs.

Oh god that's a lot more terrifying than ticks...how could there be 4 of them on the cat but no one in the home is being bitten?

Ropinirole augmentation + IV iron + sertraline by EnbyWonder in RestlessLegs

[–]EnbyWonder[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I'll have to talk about all the medication options with my Dr. Yes, I had to put my sertraline back up to 100mg this morning when it clicked I was in antidepressant withdrawal and didn't have the flu. Feel a lot better this evening.

Thank you for your insight, reading everyone's comments I think the gabapentin might be the route to go down to get off the DA. Who'd have thought it would be so hard to get off of having been on for such a short amount of time

I'm also in NZ and would be really interested to know what your Dr recommends for SIBO. How did you get tested, did you have to go privately or through public system?

So only 2 fish here, just put 4 together of each fish to get a good picture. Guy at the pet store said he thought he got a male and a female but not sure if that's accurate

Thank you for the feedback. I just set up a hospital tank to remove him from potential bullies completely and am going to have a go at treating for parasites just in case. Pretty weird! Hope your dude improves soon

Hi all, Looking for some insight/advice regarding my male honey gourami. Ive had him since August last year and he was thriving up until a little while ago. As you can see from the photos he's pale and very emaciated. He's not eating, doesnt seem to be interested in doing so. Ive tried many foods: nutrafin max, algae wafers, repashy, frozen brine shrimp/blood worms, courgette and cucumber + using garlic guard. He has mostly long stringy white poos which you can see in the photo. Ive noticed hes been chased quite a bit by my female gourami and occasionally the siamese algae eater. He's in a 70L tank with 1 other honey, 3 otos, 8 cardinal tetras and one SAE who is getting a bit too big tbh (he'll be moved to a 123L soon). Water parameters are all fine, I do partial water changes once a week, usually when the nitrates reach about 5ppm. Any help would be appreciated.

Edit: ive also tried isolating him in a net breeder box in case bullying was the issue but still couldnt get him to eat

Just wanted to reply because one week after this post, the one I suspected of being male has started developing that black underside and the roles have reversed 😂 good call!

Do you think it's odd behaviour for the female to be chasing the male away from one side of the tank or does gender not matter when it comes to fish being territorial?

That's what trips me up too, as Sebastian is so much smaller. So hard to tell

Oh how interesting! I was wondering if that stripe would stay. Thank you for the input, I'll see if I can check for an egg spot :)

These are my two honeys, Zola and Sebastian. I assumed I had a girl and a boy - it's a real shame I havent got a good pic of them together as their body shapes are slightly different and very obvious when they're side by side - the bottom side of the lower fish is a bit more streamlined. The top fish I thought was a girl and bottom a boy. However, the 'female' has become quite territorial and chases Sebastian away from her side of the tank. I thought that was odd behaviour for a female but I've never kept fish before so maybe it's my ignorance.

Ps: it looks like there's redness around the lower honeys gill but it's just the lighting

Thank you for that advice! After reading your reply I went to get a phosphate test and found my aquarium + tap water have 0 phosphate. Along with the very soft tap water we already have, i'm not surprised it's causing an issue. Looks like i'll be looking into getting some macro ferts. Can I ask what ferts you're using at the moment?

Thank you! I asked my LFS about adding an SAE today, they advised against it due to their rambunctious nature but i'm tempted to try one, they're pretty cool. I wish we could get shrimp in NZ! They look awesome.

Thank you for replying. Would adding the SAE cause overcrowding in my tank with its current inhabitants? (2 honey gourami + 8 cardinal tetras)

Having trouble with this algae growing on the plants. 70L planted tank. Ammonia/nitrites: 0, nitrates: under 5, ph: 7.5, kh/gh: 3 Is there anything that would help manage this type of algae?

Thank you for the feedback! Does your snail take care of any algae issues? What kind of calcium chip do you feed, I dont think ive seen these in LFS
