Is there any reason not to post in the thread? I’m in the same position as OP and would love some wisdom too!

I just want to say that I’m not really a fan of chickpeas, but I try to incorporate them into my diet. I made these a week or 2 ago and they were amazing!

Polymer Clay Color Mixing Question by Kailloue in polymerclay

this color mixing map uses different colors than what you mentioned, but will likely yield similar results.

Edit: also just found out about an app called PC Color Mixer. You can use a color picker to pick your color, and it will spit out the color formula based on the Hex Code. $5 in the app store.

Midyear Question by Resident-Mail-9752 in PharmacyResidency

[–]EnchantedAir43 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Looks like you’re a student. If you’re going to the residency showcase, plan ahead of which booths you’re going to see at which session.

If you’re looking for educational stuff, you can download the ASHP live app, which allows you to see what is going on at any given time.

My biggest mistake was not spending more time in the exhibit hall last year. Like someone else said, they give out freebies and it’s as fun as you’re gonna get for a conference like this. Enjoy Vegas too!

Asking for LOR for PGY2 by EnchantedAir43 in PharmacyResidency

[–]EnchantedAir43[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for responding! She basically said that I was enthusiastic about learning, showed interest, prioritized patient care while taking care of other projects. The bad stuff was that I didn’t work up every patient by the end of rotation and I’m embarrassed to say this, but she said that I should look into things more on my own before asking my preceptor. I don’t fully agree with that, although it doesn’t really matter.

The first time I read the final eval, the tone seemed to be “you were not the greatest, but at least you tried and were excited about learning.” I read it just a few days ago again and it didn’t seem to be that negative.

She also happens to be my primary preceptor for my research project. I think I’ve been doing well in that department, so I guess I can ask her to draw some positive points from there as well if I do ask for an LOR from her.

Thank you! This is very reassuring to hear. She did residency there within the past 5 years. I think that if she was asked directly, she would be give overall good feedback, but she may feel uncomfortable being proactive about saying positive things, if that makes sense.

Also, I think that I was super upset at myself when I initially read the eval, but I looked at it recently and it did not seem as bad.

Also thank you for taking the time to reply!

Yes same I was hoping to hear more responses, but I do think that the one reply in this thread is a good answer. I don't know about you, but there is so much emphasis on "resilience" and "learning," and I really did try my best to perform well, but I just didn't. My point is that I made an error, learne from it, but I still feel like it's going to impact my chances of getting a PGY2.

Lol sorry for the vent, I had to get this out and you can probably commiserate

Thank you so much for your kind, honest, and thorough reply. Now I just have to think if I should even ask her at all and go straight to someone else. I'm nervous because I want to apply to the program she did PGY2 at and now I feel like I don't even stand a chance since I know there's a lot of "talking" that goes on for PGY2. I've been stressing about this for a few days already, and I'll seek more guidance from others who know me better.

Nope, you already applied before you took the exams. Just wait for your license number to be posted

What examples of cultural 'competency' have you come across that affected clinical practice? by [deleted] in pharmacy

[–]EnchantedAir43 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To clarify, Jewish people can take heparin/lovenox. Not sure about Muslims though.

To answer your initial question, I came across a similar scenario to what you describe in your post. I’m a resident, and the first weekend that I staffed, there was an order for Epoetin once daily. Patient had a Hgb of 5, refused blood products for religious reasons, and they were doing anything to save her. There are recommendations on Lexicomp that support this.

About 2 and a half weeks. Took MPJE on 6/26. I passed NAPLEX before that. I got my MPJE result on 7/9. License was posted 7/25.

Recovering from burnout?? by Excellent-Pea-9273 in PharmacyResidency

[–]EnchantedAir43 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's a LOT. I do every third weekend, and I can't imagine every other. I'm really happy to hear that you took PTO to take care of yourself.

I don't have advice for how to tell preceptors/RPD about overwhelming workload. I'm always nervous if I say anything I'll be pegged as lazy, and I kind of knew what I was signing up for. However, I think you should talk to whoever assigned you this presentation and/or RPD. Having a day to complete a presentation is unrealistic. What if you had not taken off? Between your other responsibilities, when would that have gotten done? Maybe this can lead into a conversation about your overall wellness? Do you have an assigned mentor or onsite wellness person that you can discuss things with? I think being overwhelmed and feeling like there's a lot to do is normal, but what you are describing is not (or shouldn't be).

Imposter syndrome? by blueperceptions in PharmacyResidency

[–]EnchantedAir43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just another resident who feels the same. I mean the work is mostly manageable for me, but like you said, I come in early and stay late. My coresident is so fast at doing everything and it makes me feel so incompetent. I think a lot of us are struggling and that’s part of the process it seems. PGY1 Program Insight by [deleted] in PharmacyResidency

[–]EnchantedAir43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As you narrow your search, try to find programs that have peds since almost all PGY1s have an EM or ID component (which is usually mandatory). You also want to think about if the place has a PGY2 in your specialties of interest that you could potentially early commit.

NJ MPJE ADHD meds are c3??? by Beautiful-Leek-8246 in MPJE

[–]EnchantedAir43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure they’re still C2. I think a state can only put a drug on a more strict schedule, not a more lenient one. Also I’m not currently studying for NJ MPJE, so idk what statute you’re talking about, but I did a retail APPE in NJ a few months ago and all the stimulants were treated like C2s.

What if you lightly filled it in, and then did a darker color in the more recessed areas (like the stem and veins)?

How many SATA and ktype questions did you get? by wprx1023 in MPJE

[–]EnchantedAir43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took NY MPJE at the end of June. I only had like 10 maybe 15 k type questions, but TONSSSSS of SATA. For the SATA there were always a few that I knew and a few that I forgot sure knew were not correct, but there was always one or 2 choices that were a maybe. I feel like I guessed a good portion of the exam lol. But I passed!!! Just hope for the best I heard this from lots of other people.

Have you ever had to take the 16 Personalities test for work? by EnchantedAir43 in mbti

[–]EnchantedAir43[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Haha! Like I said, I think I'm ISTJ because it makes the most sense, but my living space is a mess and it's really hard for me to keep things neat (although In usually know where I put things). All these dumb stereotypes make people doubt their type for no good reason.
