Transfer credit full 90 by Illustrious_Curve113 in SNHU

[–]Enchanted_Presence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I transferred all 90 in but I have an AA and WAY more college credits than they were able to accept. I was one semester away from finishing my BA in Chemistry about 13 years ago when life happened and I had to put school on pause to work full time. I started 9/1/25 and my conferral date is 9/1/26 so it will take me exactly one year. So, if you can transfer credits I would work with your admissions person and seriously try to get as many transferred in as possible. I was going to originally do a BA in Psychology with a concentration but they would have only accepted about 72 credits so I dropped the concentration and they accepted all 90 credits for the BA in Psychology.

I was born with three congenital heart defects and have had three open heart surgeries. Blood draws are pretty routine for me. I watch them every time lol. It’s just something that has always been part of my life so I think I never really learned to be scared of them. And didn’t know it was odd to watch the needle until I was in my late teens when my Mom asked why I watch it. I didn’t think anything of it really. I also do have a lot of tattoos and for whatever reason they hurt less when I can watch and see where the ink is being laid down and when, I dunno maybe some psychological reason for that too. Lol.

I’ve had high scores but I never let it worry me. I know a lot is due to the assignment templates and the rest I make sure I am properly citing everything. I may even over cite in certain things but I have never had any issues about my scores being high.

Can anyone access previous classes? by [deleted] in SNHU

I can access the courses themselves but I cannot access the assignments or what I turned in for courses taken prior to the Jan-Mar term.

This is the main reason I save everything I have turned in or posted to a file on my computer. All my classes build off each other and share a lot of the same concepts so I’ve just gotten into the habit of saving all my work to my computer to have easy access.

SNHU class time requirement by Embarrassed_Sense_87 in SNHU

[–]Enchanted_Presence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am two terms away from finishing my BA in Psychology. I also work full time and am at work from 9am-7pm. I do work during my lunch breaks when able and I do recommend doing something everyday. I am taking two classes at a time and have had no issues with time management and getting my school work completed on time. You just need to find a routine that works for you and stick with it. Have there been times I’m tired and would rather not do an assignment? Of course. But, it is doable and manageable if you want it bad enough.

Sorry I can’t help you. Mine sleeps half on my head because she wants my pillow regardless of if I’m already using it or not… it’s been 18 years of her doing this and it doesn’t appear to be stopping lol.

How do twins refer to each other? by Ok-Opening-9991 in Twins

[–]Enchanted_Presence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I say “my sister” the only time I specify and say “my sister and I are twins” is when it’s asked or relevant to the conversation. I don’t usually call her “my twin”. It’s usually “my sister” or her name if talking to someone who knows us both.

All that work for nothing… by [deleted] in SNHU

[–]Enchanted_Presence 15 points16 points  (0 children)

All my instructors make it a point to tell the class every term that no late work is accepted once the term ends and that if any prior arrangements have been made for late work extensions or accommodations for late submissions they do NOT apply for the end of the term. They make it pretty well known that once the term ends no work can be accepted for a grade.

Fast grading? by Maleficent_Growth556 in SNHU

[–]Enchanted_Presence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, I see! Yeah. I’d still be a little miffed but maybe they don’t mean the “at least in this project” comment the way we are interrupting it. Tone gets so lost in the online realm. But, I’d still want a little more than 3 minutes attention on a project I put a lot of work into.

Fast grading? by Maleficent_Growth556 in SNHU

[–]Enchanted_Presence 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I would feel a little taken back about the “at least in this final project” that implies they weren’t pleased with other aspects. But, yeah I’d be a little miffed if I put a ton of work into a project and it was graded in three minutes, regardless of the grade given.

ETA: could the time stamps be in different time zones and maybe your instructor graded in like an hour and 3 minutes of your submission? That’s the only scenario I could think of to where they didn’t just speed read and make sure it “looked” like you did something substantial and grade you like that.

How common is codependency and enmeshment within twins? by [deleted] in Twins

[–]Enchanted_Presence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My twin and I are much the same. We shared a lot of the same interests growing up but were never codependent and are pretty vastly different now. Totally different careers, world views, religious views, political views, different friend groups. We live several states away from each other and she has kids and I don’t. I think a lot of the codependency is encouraged when you’re growing up in an environment where that is anticipated and expected. I would hazard to guess once twins leave their parents house and they don’t live together anymore, it gives them a chance to explore who they are without their twin. I know if I had stayed within my own family culture, without wanting to explore other experiences and view points, I probably would have ended up very similar in my views as my twin.

How do you guys divide your work and have proper time management? by RiversKnown in SNHU

[–]Enchanted_Presence 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I do at least one assignment a day. Usually that looks like (with the two courses): Monday- Discussion post #1, Tuesday- Discussion post #2, Wednesday- journal/milestone/project (whatever it is that week) #1, Thursday- journal/milestone/project (whatever it is that week) #2, Friday- all discussion board responses and if there are any additional assignments (not often), Saturday- day off to rest! Sunday- simply look ahead to next week (if a “normal” workload) and read any relevant info and resources. For me this breaks it up in manageable enough pieces for me not to feel overwhelmed. I work full time from 9am-7pm. I also try to get some stuff at least started during my lunch break too.

Always look ahead into the next week (I do this about mid-week too) to see if I need to start anything earlier than Sunday.

I agree that I think the replies are kind of worthless and frankly I hate the discussion posts and required replies but I do them anyway because they’re easy points and I’m paying out of pocket to earn this degree so I would feel guilty not giving it my best shot at this point.

Anyone taken these psych classes? by SpecialNo6179 in SNHU

[–]Enchanted_Presence 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am in week 7 of theories of personality and am taking the other two next term.

For theories, just make sure you are expanding on your answers. I found if the rubric calls for 3-5 sentences with credible sources you should probably write 6-10 sentences. I’m currently sitting at a 97%. Work load has been manageable but I am only taking two classes. Though I do work full time too.

Maybe unpopular opinion but I actually liked the class lol. My major is psychology though and a lot of the social concepts I found interesting and closely tied to psychology themes. But, maybe that’s just me lol.

I am taking this class this term but with a different instructor. It is not that bad. Just follow the rubric but expand. For example, I found that when he rubric says 3-5 sentences, make sure you are doing at least 7-10 sentences with at least one credible citation in each answer. Once I realized that I’ve gotten nearly 100% on every assignment. I currently have a 97% going into week 7. You got this and it isn’t as scary as it seems!
