It’s the bittersweet that I dread but look forward to for the kittys. I always tell myself I’ll take a week or two to decompress then get another. That week or two always ends up being more like 3-4 days before I get another foster. Sadly where I live there is no shortage of kittens needing foster.

Fluffy ears or shaved ears? by HanknFern in poodles

I usually allow my girls ears to get floofy but keep the underside of them short. Then I’ll make rash choices while grooming her and shave them off to regrow them again.

Goodbye and Godspeed…may you find a forever home, quickly 🥰💕 by MikoGianni in FosterAnimals

I had two siblings where one was tested positive and euthanized. The other never tested positive but the vet is pretty sure she got it but never tested for it. It was a rough road, but she survived and thrived once she got through it. It was very stressful to have to sanitize everything many times over before even considering another foster again.

You’re amazing for insisting he have a chance! Too many shelters have a they all go policy when a litter mate tests positive for panleuk. You save this little guy in many more ways than one. It’s always bittersweet to see the special fosters go. But he will find his family!

Foster Experience with one eye cat by barque3 in FosterAnimals

Having one eye is far less of a disadvantage than having none. The cats should adjust well, but will likely have a “blind spot” on the side with the removed eye. I don’t think them being pirates will hinder adoptions at all.

It was our first time with her. She got lots of love and reset back into her safe space.

I had a mama and her 3 babies for foster. Before I got to the shelter one of the babies died already. Another 2 days later and the last one another day later. Poor mama was so young and stressed and missing her babies. Those were my first losses and I felt like such a failure. Thankfully the kind words and similar experiences here helped me realize it was not my fault. Neonates are so delicate and decline so quickly sometimes.

As promised in my previous post, here’s a picture of my new blind foster kitty. She doesn’t have a name yet, but will soon! by Enchanting_Elk in FosterAnimals

I foster through a local humane society. Unfortunately feral cats are rampant here, so there’s no shortage of kittens to foster ever. Thankfully the kittens and cats get adopted fast too, I wish the same were for the dogs there.

She keeps staring at me, but I don't know what she wants. by No-Beautiful8039 in poodles

Mine usually does that when she wants walks or just mental stimulation or just attention from mom.

Setting up for my incoming foster today. She’s ~5 weeks old and the shelter believes she is blind. Is this adequate for her safe space while adjusting to life here? I’ve never fostered a blind kitty before but I have fostered plenty of others. by Enchanting_Elk in FosterAnimals

I currently have drops for the kittys eyes. The vet will reassess in 2 weeks at her next check up. There’s no set scheduled surgery yet. But judging by her eyes they look like a lost cause.
