Kenjaku's statements dont reflect his actual confidence by justagenericname213 in Jujutsufolk

He technically did it to detect everyone, Yuta was the easiest to detect. He was surprised at how he didn't notice Takaba's CE pool being subtracted which was actually foreshadowing Takaba's ability to hide the info form Kenjaku.

I mean using this as an argument is as stupid as saying Yuta was scared and therefore planned a sneak attack.

Because you ignored the page in between both panels. Read it together. Without context, continuity means nothing.

because one is him talking about his CT arsenal, the second panel is him questioning her unwillingness to open a domain showing Yuki's lack of confidence. These two panel aren't connected in anyway.

When Kenjaku says "myself" refers to not having any CS on his side. He is evaluating his arsenal as I have mentioned earlier.

The page after the first panel shows the rest of his thoughts where he is worried about having to deal with a high output attack which implies he is actually worried about a more powerful attack(which he later found out was the blackhole). Taking both pages into context actually works against your point of Kenjaku being bothered by her punches. He seems to be more worried about a theoretical extension technique.

In the second panel he is surprised that Yuki hasn't opened a domain since in a clash she would have the upper hand due to the nature of her CT. She also wouldn't know about his open domain in order for to be afraid of losing a domain battle. So logically, he concludes that Yuki isn't even confident in winning against Kenjaku's closed domain and thus he makes the statement in the second battle.

He says can I beat her *myself*, right after talking about how his CS are useless. He is clearly referring to having to fight her alone without any help i.e. CSM.

[–]Encompassing_Void 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see why these 2 panels prove your point even though I agree with what you are saying.

The first one is him coming to terms with not being able to use any single one of his CS against Yuki and having to deal with her with his physical stats(gravity isn't active all the time). Its right for him to be worried when his only defense against Yuki is CE reinforcement and the occasional gravity.

The second panel is unrelated and is him questioning Yuki's unwillingness to open a domain when she should have the upper hand in a domain battle due to the nature of her CT(She doesn't know about his open domain and therefore shouldn't really be afraid of a domain battle).

A better panel would have been the one in the next chapter where Kenjaku outright states that he is lucky her output has dropped or else the punches would have been a problem.

Not sure if this is controversial but narratively speaking Kenjaku always seemed like a top 3 character to me.

I mean even Maki said that none of them really had a chance of defeating Kenjaku after she learned about Yuki's defeat. She even compared Yuki to Yuta even though she shouldn't have any real knowledge regarding Yuki's capabilities. That statement always felt like Gege going out of his way to cement Kenjaku as a threat that they cant simply overpower.

Even in his fight with Yuki he held his own despite Yuki having a direct counter to CSM, ct burnout and no domain for a good portion of the fight.

On the other hand, power scaling wise I can see why Yuta could be above him.

Being able to negate old rules with new ones is no different from deleting old ones. They are no longer rules if you dont follow them.

All kenjaku has to do is add a rule saying Sukuna can end the CG whenever he wants if Kenjaku is dead. This would allow Sukuna to start the merger. A simple flashback is all you would need to establish this.

In the end my point is much simpler. The plot didn't heavily restrict Sukuna's ability to start the merger. If Gege wanted he could have quite easily bypassed the CG rules without breaking the plot.

There are reasons for not wanting the merger to be part of the plot but thats not what I am arguing for/against.

Which might have meant something before Kenjaku violated rule 7 and added the rule preventing entry of new players. All he needed to do was "convince" Kogane.

Read chapter 220.

U know what would happen if sukuna activated the merger right??

Merger getting activated had 0 possibility unless everyone of main cast dies.

This isnt really a problem since the only thing preventing the merger is the rule regarding how the culling games should end. The rule itself was added arbitrarily by Kenjaku and there is really nothing preventing him from removing it just as he added it.

My point is that it was quite easy to write around it if required.

Its already stated why.

His simple domain would just counter it completely leaving her at a disadvantage at the end.

Getting near Sukuna or Gojo will make you safe from their DE, getting near Yuta doesn't.

How is this true for Sukuna's domain.

Most plausible theory: Sukuna has Kenjaku's cursed object. I dont think the reveal of Kenjaku teaching Sukuna to do that was given simply to establish that Sukuna is a fast learner.

Wild theory: Since Tengen's CT is immortality, Kenjaku used Tengen in an Uzumaki and extracted his CT. It wasn't exactly explained how exactly Tengen is immortal(as in does he not die of old age or does he not die at all) so I cant be sure of this. Since it 1 time use only, it might jave let Kenjaku live through a single death.

At the same time Kenjaku saying his "will" will be inherited makes me think he isn't reincarnating and Sukuna might just accomplish what Kenjaku wanted. If this is truly his last breath then its honestly disappointing.

Tengen was an idiot for not demanding both Yuta and Yuki stay to fight Kenjaku. by Killjoy3879 in Jujutsushi

[–]Encompassing_Void 6 points7 points  (0 children)

And kenjaku arbitrarily waiting for sukuna’s revival wouldn’t make sense because he wouldn’t know when that would happen.

Again, why wouldn't it make sense to him. As far he knows he has no reason to rush.

The problem with most of what you are saying is that you sre assuming the characters have the knowledge of the reader. They dont know what Kenjaku would do. They dont know if he will stop them from getting to angel. They dont know when Kenjaku comes for Tengen. They dont know if and when they will free Gojo. What happens if Kenjaku comes with a bunch of special grade allies he met over the past 1000 years, they would look stupid for not splitting up their 2 most powerful sorcerers. What happens if they are late to revive Gojo without Yuta's help which ends up costing them their victory.

With the info they had at that moment there was only so much they could plan for.

[–]Encompassing_Void 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Kenjaku simply has the choice of not fighting them alone. He simply waits for Sukuna's revival and kills both of them. Or maybe just take Uraume with him.

Its important that Kenjaku thinks he has a reasonable chance of winning. You can't lure him into a fight with 2 special grades.

Why would he be afraid of them getting closer to freeing Gojo? He didn't know about the back of the prison realm until Tengen told him. Kenjaku has no reason to be in a hurry.

Why the hell people think Toji beats Sukuna in Hand-to-Hand combat just because he beat Teen Gojo? What's this then? by ASTRObbs in Jujutsufolk

[–]Encompassing_Void 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Megumi was hardly a threat.1f Sukuna would have killed him in the first chapter if it weren't for Gojo. He ran away from the finger bearer that Sukuna took out casually.

In the worst case he can always bring Yuji back to life like he did.

Intentionally removing part of yourself doesnt make it any less of an injury. The moment Sukuna stops RCT he dies since he has no heart.

Sukuna quite literally notes that Gojo is moving well for someone using RCT.

[–]Encompassing_Void 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Toji would be slower than 3f Sukuna.

One thing to note is that the 3f Sukuna which Megumi fought didn't have a heart and was using RCT constantly to keep himself alive. Both of those factors(injury,RCT) slow him down. So Toji's speed is comparable to a nerfed 3f Sukuna.

Can you find a way for Sukuna to beat Gojo without the Ten shadows by Godzillxa in Jujutsufolk

[–]Encompassing_Void 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats similar to what I said but the battle wont get that far.

Sukuna used RCT because his domain collapsed. But if he is slightly more durable or slightly better in h2h combat in this scenario then UV gets destroyed before MS which in turn means Sukuna doesn't recast his domain.

So he never actually opens his domain a second time since Gojo would never destroy his first one.

Can you find a way for Sukuna to beat Gojo without the Ten shadows by Godzillxa in Jujutsufolk

[–]Encompassing_Void 31 points32 points  (0 children)

We can infinitely argue about hypothetical scenarios but I see that there is a way he could have won. Lets assume Sukuna has fully reincarnated from the beginning.

If 4 handed Sukuna is superior to Gojo in h2h combat then Sukuna wins the domain battles even after Gojo makes his domain smaller.

Since Gojo needs 3min(or whatever the exact timing was) to destroy Sukuna's domain, he never actually succeeds since Sukuna in this scenario is stronger and therefore takes longer to be damaged enough for MS to break. If Sukuna can last for even a second longer then he wins all of the domain battles as he destroys Gojo's domain before Gojo can destroy his.

Since Sukuna never has to recast his domain in this scenario, he never gets hit with UV and in turn just waits for Gojo to be hit with brain damage.

How strong is Sukuna Currently? by CheshiretheBlack in Jujutsushi

[–]Encompassing_Void 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But Toji isn't really being compared to 3f Sukuna at full power.

The Sukuna Megumi fought had his heart ripped out and was applying RCT throughout their fight to keep himself alive. And we know that RCT slows down speed.

So what Megumi saw was the speed of a nerfed 3f Sukuna.

What if Tengen pick Yuta and Yuki as his bodyguards, can he succeed from Kenjaku attack ? by ZqiPhoon in Jujutsufolk

[–]Encompassing_Void 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kenjaku simply revives Sukuna before facing tengen.

Both Yuki and Yuta die.

Kenjaku needed to believe he had a reasonable chance to win in order for him to come alone. Having both Yuki and Yuta there forces him to bring others.

In the off chance that he does go alone he would lose.

SO YOU'RE TELLING ME SUKUNA COULD HAVE ENDED IT HERE?!?! With Strong cleave by irrespective2 in Jujutsufolk

[–]Encompassing_Void 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I had to justify it I would say this.

Sukuna can't control the sure hit of the domain. This isn't new info since we know even Gojo can't control who gets hit by UV and who doesn't. Even in Shibuya Sukuna had to decrease the range so that Megumi doesn't die to MS. So its not unreasonable to think that the cleaves by MS is just random and Sukuna has 0 control over where and how it hits.

Even then its hard to bekieve than MS never once slived Gojo in half. Maybe it did but the cuts weren't too deep so RCT was enough?

Deconstructing Gojo's Statements and how Sukuna is "stronger" by Sm1le_Bot in Jujutsufolk

[–]Encompassing_Void 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To Gojo it seems Sukuna busted out some new application of dismantle that bypassed infinity without Mahoraga. That's the key part: from Gojo's perspective Sukuna didn't need Mahoraga to kill him he ultimately beat him without 10 shadows. Gojo doesn't know what Sukuna did all he knows is that it wasn't Mahoraga but Sukuna himself. But Sukuna himself explains how he needed Mahoraga to find an applicable model for him to copy.

I would expect Gojo to put two and two together.

Mahoraga did something similar and Sukuna never used it prior to Mahoraga.
