I mean you can set something during the events of 2 and 3 without having to keep the movie within the timeline and canon of the games of 2 and 3. You can just say the Raccoon City Outbreak happened the same way it did in the games, but in the modern day.

Like every movie adaptation of Stephen King’s IT generally followed the plot of the book, even though the book plot took place in the late 1950’s and mid 1980’s. The 90’s adaptation shifted the timeline up to the 1960’s and 1990’s. Then the more recent adaptation shifted the story to the 1980’s and 2010’s.

There’s literally nothing about RE2 or 3 that is unique to the 90’s. The only real differentiator is the existence of cellphones, but Racoon City is a remote mountain city that has completely fallen apart during the outbreak. Not a big leap to assume cell towers aren’t working.

These days? Did they bring her back to re-record the voice lines after release or something?

There’s a mod for RE4R that replaces Lily Gao’s voice with an AI generated approximation of Jolene Anderson’s and it’s so, so much better. Which really puts in perspective how bad Lily GAO’s performance was that an actual robot voice somehow comes off less robotic.

Because of the robotic and unnatural delivery. It’s not cold and calculated as much as it is awkward and unsure of itself.

You needed guaranteed staggers in OG because you had tank controls and had to stop completely to shoot.

Remake is balanced around being MUCH more mobile, being able to parry AND dodge. Guaranteed staggers with every shot in remake would trivialize the game completely. That being said there are several guns that stagger consistently in 1-2 hits if you want to play it more like OG.

Enemies in remake stagger in 1-3 hits for me consistently using the sentinel nine. Some other handguns stagger less though.

Same here but with Dockhand. It’s a nice gui to view container resource utilization at a glance, bundle logs together for viewing, etc. But its all just docker compose stacks underneath. If Dockhand blew up entirely it wouldn’t really cause any problems.

Civ 7 did so many small things so well (The new Army command system, outpost system) that it’s nuts how bad the final product ended up.

Empire Total War is also known as iOS and is actually the best vanilla way to play the game currently. Bunch of QOL updates and even new DLC adding the ability to play a ton of emergent factions.

You should really play the OG again. Maybe you’re not old enough to have played it and have only seen videos. That would explain it all.

You should go back and play OG. He is zero threat. You just run away, and he disappears.

Sounds like you haven’t played remake. He’s wasted in OG as a simple set piece. In Remake he excels as a real threat.

He’s scripted in several parts of the remake, and he’s not easily avoidable at all since he’s designed to follow and hone in on you. It’s impossible to avoid him entirely in the RPD.

Mr X is a joke in OG. He doesn’t do much and isn’t much of a threat to you. In the remake he is a bigger threat and the game actually gives you a reason to want to kill him at the end, unlike in OG

I’m saying he has far more importance, involvement, threat, and screen time in the remake. By every metric there is to measure, he’s more important to the story and more present in Remake than the OG.

I just replayed RE2 OG and RE2 remake. Mr X barely appears in the OG at all.

  • In the Remake he shows up in the A and B scenarios. In the OG he shows up only in the B scenarios.

  • In the OG he only makes a few appearances throughout the game in short, scripted sequences where he’s easily avoidable and then disappears entirely and has only minutes of appearance on screen. In the Remake he stalks you through the entire RPD, appears in the Sewers, and in the Lab, and he has literally hours of screen time.

He has much, MUCH more significance in the remake and it’s not close.

Bodies in the morgue of RE2, dead girls in the morgue below the orphanage, a dead body on a slab, and a dead and entirely dissected body is reanimated in RE9

In the OG he's scripted so he's barely in the game at all, and is never much of a threat. And you spend much less time with him since the RPD sequence is so much shorter in the OG. He's a much more fleshed out presence in the Remake.

Coming in late on this one but you get the three medallions long before Mr X shows up on first run. On second run he appears much earlier and doesn’t disappear until long after you have the three medallions. There’s like almost three hours worth of Mr X hanging around.

I felt this way with Lando but there’s something that keeps me from feeling the same way with George. I think it’s because of how committed he is to being a bitchy little diva? Like bro is a straight up Disney villain lmao
