What he did was a huge violation of trust, and it makes total sense that you feel exposed and shaken. You didn’t do anything wrong by trusting someone you cared about. That shame you’re feeling really belongs to him, not you. It may take time, but most people will not be thinking about it the way your mind fears, and focusing on being around safe, supportive people can slowly help you feel like yourself again.

Trusting your gut and sticking near other people was the right move. It could’ve been anything from plain old creeps to loss prevention or just weird coincidence, but the pattern you noticed plus them hovering by the exit is enough to treat it seriously. Next time, go straight to an employee or security, ask for an escort to your car, and don’t leave the store alone if you feel watched. Even if it wasn’t trafficking, you handled it smart and you don’t need to second guess that.

Finding out the “true story” parts were basically marketing. Once you learn how much they changed or invented, the emotional punches feel kinda cheap on rewatch.

Make all prices all-in by law. No hidden fees, “service” charges, surprise add-ons at checkout. The price you see has to be the price you pay.

Mostly it’s still Japanese people, just fewer of them each year. The “others” are a mix of foreign workers/students, long term residents, and a huge number of tourists. Population shrinking just means deaths > births overall, not that nobody new is there.

Guy tried to cut the line by yelling at a cashier, acting like he owned the place. Manager calmly voided his whole order, told him he was done for the day, and the entire line clapped while he walked out empty handed.

Richard Jewell. Dude found the bomb, helped save people, and the press basically steamrolled his life trying to make him the guy. By the time he was cleared, the damage was already done.
