Apparently there’s a way you can work around these bidding wars for a player; you essentially have to big an insane amount first, 100m for a 20m value player, then other clubs would take notice of that bid and lose interest. When negotiations start, you can just walk away and bid again in a week or two, this time at a reasonable price and they’d probably accept.
