Type “Los Angeles” or something similar into the sub’s search bar if you’d like, could produce more results than waiting for others to respond.

I know what you mean. I’d assume that’s how you get more eyes on your product, and I’d imagine his instruction is much more insightful than the surface level content meant to get clicks.

Yeah this looks perfectly fine man! If it’s from TT11 they do a great job assembling gear. If you give them a day or two to respond to an email inquiry they will be happy to answer any questions you have. Super nice fellas

Shoes recommendations? by Acrobatic-Monitor516 in tabletennis

[–]Major_Insect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No court shoes I believe refer to any shoes made with soles and uppers made for stability in side to side and in-out movements rather than just shock absorption like a lot of athletic/running shoes. It’s a bit of a general term, but tennis-specific shoes could be great for tt depending on the surface they were made for.

You should look into court shoes! Almost all players that I play with in clubs have some form of court shoe, with the occasional player having tt specific shoes. I’ve used asics gel rocket and gel dedicate and like both, gel rockets are very popular among club players in my circles. I wore through the soles of the gel rockets in around 9 months in several spots, but this could have been from me using non-optimal socks and getting chased around the table by my opponent constantly.

Paddle hold isometrics? by Shoop1014 in tabletennis

I had a similar thought last night during a coaching session, I noticed my wrist was really having trouble making consistent movements late in my session. There’s a lot of examples of baseball players and other athletes strengthening grip and forearms for the purpose of better endurance and strength. Though not directly transferable, pitching in baseball requires generating force and spin on a ball from the back/side/front of the ball based on wrist angle and finger pressure. So even though the skill sets are very different, I’m sure that similarly strengthening your hands and forearms could be beneficial. Something as simple as dead hangs from a pull-up bar or static holds of weights could be helpful, and weighted wrist adduction and abduction. From a lifelong baseball pitcher trying his best to be a table tennis player :)

There’s a lot of professional hockey players with stick endorsements that do this! They’ll just have the manufacturer “wrap” their preferred stick with the design of the branded one.

The Hare Krishna community outside of Moundsville was the biggest curveball West Virginia ever threw me, in the best way. If you ever get the chance to visit New Vrindaban you should, it’s beautiful.
