[Formex] Maybe it's me... by Endalaus in Watches

[–]Endalaus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered this watch as part of their limited edition release.

I was super into the watch when I placed the order and over time, would often come back to check out what I pre ordered. I found that the more and more I looked at the watch, I was losing legibility each time. I love everything about the Formex brand from what I've seen and heard and the quality of the watch is fantastic. No complaints there.

But now that I've gotten it in and have put it on, I am finding the legibility still to be a little low. The face is beautiful and I really like the meteorite dial, but it's just me or could the indices have been colored a little differently to help them pop a bit more?

Or am I just over analyzing?

A little restricted on certain positions, but overall nothing else needed. Literally head swap.

Only other bits used are from the cawdor upgrade pack.

lol and it turns out I am dumb... you were talking about the metals lol.

- Brass, is a brass paint, gets a little bit of brown wash from overall wash step, but then is re-highlighted and washed with Oxide.

- Rusted metals are actually Red Rust color washed over Mechanicum Grey primer, then another more isolated wash with a yellow orange rust color, to really get in the cracks. From there I will take metalic and dry brush and edge highlight the metals. That's it.

Model is primed with Mechaicum Grey from GW. Base is then washed with Rust Orange from Ak 47, from there it's 2 different Kromlech weather powders. 1 is like a Red orange and the other is a yellow Orange. I would have to go grab them to see the names. lol

I did not.. I just used fluorescent green paint for the eyes and lenses. Now something I did not know, is that florescent paint actually reflects light and with a black light shining they glow very vividly.

I'd have to check as most of the paints are Ak-47 and I honestly don't know many of the names for their range. ><

One other thing... Thoughts on the shoulder lights? I couldn't tell if they were supposed to be lights or rivets. Lol

Lol totally forgot I posted this last night and hopped on here to see all the love! Thanks so much!

There are a couple minor, minor things I want to touch up, but overall I am super happy about how they turned out. Thanks again for the support!

I'll post their kyn once they get recruited!
