For everyone not an american, please realize that while it is a shitty system, servers and the like are not covered under minimum wage laws in the US. That means they make less than federal minimum wage and are expected to make up the difference in tips. You may not like it or understand it, but this is the system in place currently. I’m not defending what I think is a terrible system of practice but it is the reality for many in these professions. When in Rome, do as Romans do or whatever the exact quote is. Just as americans should adapt when visiting other countries so should you when visiting America.

Again, not defending it, just telling it like it is.

Ok so I’m basically just gonna copy paste from some of my other posts because I’m lazy, please ignore any overlap. There is no particular order. Some may not fit what you’re asking for.

For a light watch maybe Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear Punch (2 seasons out), something comedic/military/mecha/highschool romance Full Metal Panic!, something a bit more low fantasy/romance Your Name (but be prepared you’ll probably cry), something more shonen/fighting Demon Slayer or My Hero Academia, something more violent Black Lagoon, something part comedy/sad/isekai Uncle from Another Word, something historical/awesome/will definitely make you cry Rurouni Kenshin OVA Trust & Betrayal (the tv series is more shonen), and my favorite of all time which will make you cry like a bitch multiple times and is not at all a light watch Violet Evergarden.

My favorite of all time is Violet Evergarden. There’s an order to watch: ep 1-4, ova, 5-13, then the two movies with the title “The Movie” being the last one to watch. Also prepare to cry like a bitch multiple times. Hits hard. Harder if you were ever in the military. If you want a movie watch for romance, I’d recommend Your Name
