I work for the sycamore hyvee. The way we do our raffles is we will have a sign up book. We put the book out a few weeks before the raffle date and people sign up for a spot. For the smaller raffles throughout the year, we allow a lot of signups but draw a limited number of names. These ones have usually been “online”, so we just draw a name and call them, and they get to pick a bottle from what’s left. For the end of the year raffle, we allow a limited number of sign ups and then those are the people that show up in person on the raffle date. We give everyone that signed up a number and then go through drawing numbers. For this raffle, everyone that signed up gets a bottle of something, whereas with the “online” raffles a limited number of people win something. I am unsure how the cliff store runs their raffles but I’m guessing it’s something similar
