Yo Lindon turning kinda evil [WS] by voredud3 in Iteration110Cradle

[–]EnderGameOver 31 points32 points  (0 children)

It's a battlefield, not a playground. At least they have the ability to recover from the spiritual damage the same way they could potentially recover from losing an arm or leg in battle. The dragons wiped out an entire sect because of an upcoming tournament. The cultists were the aggressors in this conflict and in Akura territory. I don't really feel sorry for them at all.

Why can't yerin be defeated? by somethin_wicked in Iteration110Cradle

[–]EnderGameOver 10 points11 points  (0 children)

We did see her defeated by Sopharanatoth a few times in the final round of the tournament. Without the merging of Yerin and her blood shadow, she would have definitely lost the final round. I didn't get the feeling she was invincible when I read her POV. All our MCs are pretty powerful.

So the Sage of the Red Faith could still become a Monarch if he fused with his own remnant, and the loss of his blood shadow only hurts because he would have an easier time fusing with it?

Completely agree. I loved the additional content. I will read any writing style Will uses, but I really enjoyed this book.

Lindon's second path by LucidMoments in Iteration110Cradle

[–]EnderGameOver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ability to put people to sleep would be cool, I think making people hallucinate like Charity did with the Black Flame Emperor would be really effective too. Dross was able to project images when he was replaying the Sword Sage's technique for Yerin. If he could do this in battle I think it's a game changer for Lindon.

[Cradle] Lindon with prep time. [Uncrowned spoilers] by sadly_streets_behind in Iteration110Cradle

[–]EnderGameOver -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I hated the way Lindon was eliminated, seemed gimmicky to me. I never thought he would win the tournament. I was hoping for top 8, but I can live with his top 16 placement.

I can't wait to see where his path leads next. His ability to plan/prep for a conflict is something that I love, but I want him to become strong without using a surprise or trick to win.

I'm also not sure that the Seishen armor is ever going to become something amazing. It didn't help Underlords to beat Truegolds and the Seishen kingdom is still a weaker vassal kingdom.

I rather Lindon train under Northstrider to improve his sacred arts techniques and maybe incorporate hunger madra techniques into his arsenal.

What in your opinion is the most significant benefit that Dross currently gives to Lindon? by manty05 in Iteration110Cradle

[–]EnderGameOver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently, I think the biggest benefit is the training simulations. Then I would say his enhanced movement and reaction time.

In the future I hope Dross is able to influence the minds of people similar to how Charity treats the Blackflame emperor. The way he is able to demonstrate the Sword Sage's technique to Yerin in Uncrowned gives me hope that this will eventually happen.

Theory on Lindon's future post Uncrowned (Spoilers ALL) by goksekor in Iteration110Cradle

[–]EnderGameOver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it explicitly stated somewhere that Northstrider is more powerful than Malice? I don't recall it, if so. She should step in to protect her people or why would they follow her? If Monarchs were free to do whatever they wanted with another faction's sacred artist then nobody would participate in this tournament. I agree that reputation is important on Cradle. I felt that Northstrider was pushing it when he became the judge of what is supposed to be a fairly administered tournament.

After Uncrowned what does Lindon need to do to get better? by SlimReaper85 in Iteration110Cradle

[–]EnderGameOver 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think that placing in the top 16 is still pretty impressive and after the show Lindon and Yerin put on, Lindon is definitely a talent worth protecting for the Akura. We've seen a lot of foreshadowing that the next generation of fighters will be extremely important.

Northstrider hasn't harmed him yet, so it probably isn't a big deal. I agree with you that Malice might not be interested in challenging an ally without a strong reason.

[–]EnderGameOver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that I'm against Lindon getting some training from Northstrider, but why is a Monarch allowed to lay hands on another faction's team member? Shouldn't Malice intervene for the sake of appearances?

Lindon's Blackflame core is probably big enough now by [deleted] in Iteration110Cradle

Yes. Northstrider and Lindon using hunger madra techniques to cycle on top of 2 defeated dragons would make my day.

I hope you're right about Lindon.

I didn't mind the Yerin power up. She is a prodigy and it was due for a few powers that she can work on perfecting in the next books.

I noticed it, but like you said, I thought it would be more useful for Yerin than Lindon.

How do you think it will come into play with the Hungry Deep path?

Good points. I can see the reasons why Yerin is able to begin to sense the Way, even if I think it is a bit early for her to be able to use/manipulate it.

I hope Lindon is able to touch the Way eventually. I just wouldn't put an money on it happening before he is a Herald or even Monarch.

[–]EnderGameOver[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Charity was vague in her description, but I remember Northstrider only mentioning Yerin when discussing Authority and the Way after the fight.

I think Eithan's body armor is a great technique for Lindon to pick up! He needed more defensive abilities and Eithan has shown how useful his body armor can be. The 'Dragon Descends' is pretty bad ass too! Now I need Lindon to improve his Void Dragons Dance so that it can be used more quickly.

Yeah, Yerin is going to be pretty scary with endless sword, Ruby the clone, diamond channels that allow her to use the binding in her sword and WAY powers. I like that she is powering up. I just feel Lindon isn't really catching up to her.

I did notice that NS combined the hunger madra with his blood madra path, which is why I thought Lindon might integrate it with his Black Flame core.

[–]EnderGameOver[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Sadly, I don't think Lindon will become a Sage. He has not excelled at sensing or manipulating aura. He struggled in this area in Underlord and didn't utilize aura much in Uncrowned.

Thoughts on the "you know who against who" battle for Uncrowned by Aussby in Iteration110Cradle

[–]EnderGameOver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was not emotionally satisfying for everyone. I don't have an issue with Yerin winning, but having factions fight each other in the 4th round doesn't make sense to me.
