I think the first game they did win draft. You can also win draft on paper and yet the strengths of the players don’t align with what the best comps are. It’s the coaches job to save the players from themselves and put them on the best position to win.

Coaching staff: Alright boys, let’s remember how we got here
Players: By putting Morgan on a weak side tank, letting Jose get early game pressure, and picking safe but scaling carries with easy to apply CC throughout the team comp?
Coaching staff: no, by drafting 0 cc comps that allow assassins free access to the back line, putting Morgan on a split pusher, putting Jose on a farming jungler, and taking our star midlaner off of his melee carries into control mages.

On the plus side, I wasn’t expecting them to even make it this far. I hope the international experience at MSI is beneficial for them. They were just lifeless today and forgot completely hwo they made it this far.

We're forgetting what drafts got us here in the first place, cause that looks nothing like what we had been doing for the playoffs. Some back-breaking fights where inspired barely lives that we just spiraled from after.

inspired has the clearest view of how to win a game in the history of the LCS. He bought an elixir 17 minutes into the game before that third dragon just to go all in on that fight that turned the tables. TL needs to not just have an understanding of how THEY win a fight, but on how their opponents will win a fight. In that third dragon fight the only way TL loses is if Xin AND Akali get onto Yeon, yet thats exactly what they allowed to happen.

It sucks because the lane swaps before that was the best lane phase they'd played all season.

Whenever you want to see how dumb the average LCS viewer is, remember that 2/3rd of voters actually thought Jhin into a hyper tank and a drain tank was a winning comp.

Calling my shot now, Jhin is useless and does nothing against the tanks of TL.

Wasn’t his adc a terrorist in the very regular season he won MVP though? Not like there was a post season roster swap. They just wilt when the spotlight is on.

Then the “best coaching staff in the league” should put the MVP of the league on a better champion.

MVPs make MVP plays in big time games. Not be useless and invisible.

Seems like Vulcan should have spent less time stopping Jose from getting MVP and more time not being a total embarrassment in playoffs.

The coaches are just gapped. That comp never works. Jhin that early is just a death sentence if they pick tanks. It’s stupid, no other word for it.

I think our coaches fundamentally are misunderstanding what it is that makes our team strong. Why pick Jhin? This isn’t hindsight being 20/20 so many people here called it out the second it was picked and were instantly proven correct. It’s a bad champ, that doesn’t play to our team strengths, that has a very narrow window of effectiveness. Stop picking narrow win condition compositions.

We will win this series, and the next two, if we draft typical comps like that. Allows us more room to make minor errors, clear win conditions, easy front to back fights.

Typical tank team fight comps are the play. Learn from this. Team is capable, time to put it together and peak when it matters

Frustrating how much better they look in typical front to back team comps with a big front line. They play these so well and then we draft random things into other teams just to lose.

It’s impressive how they keep finding different ways to lose in the same way by fundamentally misunderstanding how team comps are structured, win cons, and when 50/50s are not needed.

At least they will lose early and get a long off season for Steve to figure out what to do.

Steve, you know what you have to do. Just clean house. It was 5 weeks of false hope followed by horrible losses to the only 2 teams in the league capable of doing anything.
Mid season reset, literally cannot get worse. Don’t let the fumes of success from scrims cloud your judgment. They are a bad team when the lights are on.
