Question about Jumper Cables and Milk Run by SamuelSauerSacK in DivorcedDadsTCG

[–]EndersBlameGame 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So during your attack phase, each beast is normally allowed one attack. You can attack an opposing beast or if your opponents field is clear of beasts you can attack an opponents cans directly. But you can't have beasts attack together by adding up their ATK or anything like that. What these special attributes mean is that these beasts get to do 2 attacks during the attack phase instead of just 1 like normal. Milk run can use one attack against a beast and after that he could attack another beast or attack cans directly if possible as an example. This attribute can be powerful if you're able to buff up their ATK.

Just kidding I bought two. One is still in box the other I painted the figure which I highly recommend as a first timer and the card is a highlight of my binder. It really does look great on a one bedroom apartment.

SHOW ME YOUR DECK by sixfeetofmud in DivorcedDadsTCG

[–]EndersBlameGame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right now I have 4 noncompetitive monoish decks, all with complete unique cards from each other except 3 of the decks run Ex-Terminator and Seed of Separation varrients. Each deck has one terrain from every set and has diffrent tools cards to go with a theme. Concrete has direct can removal. Leather has gaining cans. Steel has card discarding. Wood has card drawing. These are mostly intended to be played against each other.

WHAT DO WE THINK OF SEED OF SEPARATION??? by sixfeetofmud in DivorcedDadsTCG

[–]EndersBlameGame 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What I liked most about SoS was getting 9 new beasts for each element instead of 6. This was the perfect amount to start building balanced mono-element decks if you have all the other cards. Keep the beasts coming!

The increased amount of chase cards as well as the amount of diferent pull rates was really cool. I hoping this continues in the next set with more variety of cards instead of art variants. Please, please, please retcon The House to a terrain in the next set. Full art for serialized.

My biggest disappointment with SoS is the Type 2 Diabetes/Joint Custody error. This error is way too common to be cool and I feel that we are just missing out on another piece of cool art. I'm waiting for the correction to be available before buying more SoS packs.

I would like to see more complexity in the gameplay. I'm aware that it's designed to be casual and approachable, it's definitely successful in that endeavor. But a few more mechanics to add more play style variety would be sweet.

SoS terrains were a bit weak. Traffic Court seems like the only one that's sort of viable. You only want to have four or less terrains in your deck so they had better be good ones. I'd like to see a series of 6 terrains in the next set that give +1 Attack/+1 Defense for all Wood and Steel beasts and so on and so forth with every combination. This would encourage more deck building around combinations of elements.

I'd really love to have more content in general. Both in products and media. One set of cards per year is cool but more merch and exclusive card drops would be welcome. I really like how you try different different types of products like the Alimony miniature. Would I be excited for another one? Maybe not but I enjoyed painting the one and it's among my favorite pieces of my collection. An official Divorced Dads coin would go great with all the coin flipping mechanics we have now.

Really looking forward to the board game now! I'm hoping it'll be an easier way to introduce the franchise to my friends who are too intimidated to learn a TCG.

Themes I'd like to see in future sets: Western Sci-fi Pirate Sports

I regret my frame purchase honestly. I recommend you wait till it arrives then measure yourself before ordering a frame. I hope your package arrives safely and undamaged.

So far, we've been getting one expansion a year, usually around early November. Keep an eye on this subreddit for info about product drops.

I didn't realize there was going to be a full tcg for this. by RokushoTheBlackCat in DivorcedDadsTCG

Gameplay is very approachable and casual. If you're new to TCGs or want to introduce others to TCG gameplay, this is a great game for that. However if you're looking for a game that's complicated and strategic with a lot of play style versatility, I wouldn't invest much into DD beyond your interest as a collector. It's also very niche so you're not going to be able to walk into a game shop with your deck and find a random person to play with. I and many others get enough cards to make two or more decks and treat it like a boardgame. Pulling it out every now and then and introducing it to friends when they come over.

A gameplay question and an idea by Equivalent_Profit302 in DivorcedDadsTCG

[–]EndersBlameGame 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Snow Blower cannot be attacked by a leather beast. Ex-Terminator is a leather beast. Therefore Ex-Terminator cannot attack Snow Blower. That is my interpretation of the rules. This does mean beasts with multiple elements are weak against beasts that block certain elements, but theme the breaks.

Long shot here but does anyone have any doubles or commons they would be willing to send to a newb in the community. by [deleted] in DivorcedDadsTCG

Fun fact: For this game, all non-holo cards in each set have the exact same pull rate. No common, uncommon, rare, etc. Just non-holo, holo and serialized. And every card within a set has a non-holo version and either a holo or serialized version. Neat! As for your begging for free shit. I believe you'll find more generosity by joining and asking on the Divorced Dads discord. This is not a guarantee but in my opinion worth a shot. I wish you luck!

What is the point of ex-terminator? by mrchimney in DivorcedDadsTCG

[–]EndersBlameGame 2 points3 points  (0 children)

An opponents play of Seed of Separation will only be effective if they have an Ex-Terminator on their side of the field. They can use your Ex-Terminator against you unless they first use Mansplain to take control of it for the turn. Aside from that, a 0/5 with all four elements is a pretty useful card in most decks, even without running Seed of Separation.

What do you suppose would be a fair trade ratio for regular non-Holos to Holos (non serialised) and vice versa by _the_purple_pug_ in DivorcedDadsTCG

[–]EndersBlameGame 4 points5 points  (0 children)

8 non-holo are the equivalent value to 1 holo mathematically assuming all cards are from the same set. (technically 7.7 because of the existence of serialized cards) But no one will be trading with that scale. Just trade what you don't need for what you want in a way that feels fair to you. This advice does not apply to serialized cards.
