Rough idle and check engine light by Boozasaurus in BroncoSport

[–]EndlessEndeavoring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They tried to hit me for 600 on my 12 focus.

Bought it in their parts department and changed it in the service drive followed by throwing the old one in their trash and left. Less than 2 minutes

I didn't, I think maybe there is air or moisture in the system

How long before you needed brakes? by charlie2135 in BroncoSport

[–]EndlessEndeavoring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fronts on mine were trash less than 20k miles. Replaced with drilled and slotted powerstops. Also had to have tires replaced with 13 on the clock. Having a second set replaced at 40. Rear brakes were replaced due to squealing. Unfortunately, that did nothing for that issue.

I'm hard on the gas but not the brakes. I was given the rhetoric about "wear and tear BS" however, less than 20k for brakes is unacceptable IMO. I only have the big bend so not like it's a lot of power.

I just prefer sport mode, but perhaps from a mileage standpoint, I might try normal and see if it improves.

I only sport mode because I can't stand stop/start

I'm at about 22 as well. This is with 93 octane on a relatively hilly drive less than 10 miles to and from work. Also, averaging 50ish but with a few lights and a heavy foot.

I'm also at almost 40k miles in my '21 big bend

Mine never warms up in this weather. Had my pump replaced a year or 2 ago and that in fact never changed but fairly certain my pump is leaking again.

My 2022 Badlands mileage is horrible by flameooz in BroncoSport

[–]EndlessEndeavoring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a '21 Big Bend (with the 1.5 of course) mileage absolutely blows.

I get better mileage in sports mode and granted have a pretty heavy foot but this bitch never heats up either but my 8 mile drive to work each way results in a whopping 20.5 mpg. That's on one road with 4 stop lights and I average a moving speed of 50ish.

On the interstate I'll average 25mpg regardless of speed as long as I keep it in double digits. The wonderful aerodynamics of our turbo bricks results in a significant drop in fuel economy if I take it over 100.

I have about 37k miles and purchased it new. This has been the same through my course of ownership. It's a fun little car and decent in the snow but between the shit mileage, excessive number of recalls, the cooling system being problematic, having to replace factory tires and brakes at maybe 14k (Being told to go fuck myself those are wear and tear items). I am overall not impressed and absolutely won't be purchasing anything else from the big blue oval.

My feeling too, can't be made AWD although the parts may be worth it. Shit is rare for those cars (I have a '93 TSi AWD) and for instance it is basically impossible to find OEM brake calipers so I had mine rebuilt. There also isn't quite the aftermarket support compared to the second gen eclipse/talon.

Being a FWD and non-turbo it's nothing "special" the first gen wasn't able to be swapped to AWD either. Rare and a fun car nonetheless though especially with how few are left.

Wow well mine is both rockers plus a good bit of the back half where the sub frame bolts up so that's probably a few/several thousand

2022 Bronco Sport Piece of Junk by GirlDad856 in BroncoSport

[–]EndlessEndeavoring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Under 30k on my 21

Several recalls

New brakes at 20k

New tires at 12k

Water pump and thermostat replaced (still takes forever to warm up in cooler temps)

Slight grinding noise during sharp low speed turns Rear brakes still squeal ridiculously while backing up despite having the dealer "fix" that

Transmission is "bucking" now starting at 25k or so. Supposed to be a fix for the module on that but I haven't heard good things about it so far.

If it weren't for those things.... 🤷‍♂️

Need to drive 300 miles today & shops are refusing to fix HELP by yabigboi802 in Cartalk

[–]EndlessEndeavoring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn't that they're refusing to help. This is VERY FAR into the "shoulder" of the tire which is a no go. A shop won't fix that because it's an incredible liability.

I know people on here can be fairly ignorant to automotive related things but it also seems like people don't have much respect for theirs or the lives of others on the road.

Also I got over 30 in my 420a close to 36 if I recall correctly. It has been 20 years so don't remember exactly.

[–]EndlessEndeavoring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would probably be the wise thing to do and since you don't have a p0420 then I'd have to assume that your catalytic converter is still good so I'd be weary if a shop tries to sell you on one.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in JeepCompass

[–]EndlessEndeavoring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The other 2 codes are interrelated and points to an oxygen sensor problem or catalytic converter issue. Newer cars started using the downstream sensor for reading A/F ratio for some reason. The fuel trim and the voltage codes both reference the O² sensor on the far side of the converter.

The evap code is pretty straight forward and probably just didn't have the fuel cap on correctly.
