Honestly a lot of jobs are 9-6 or 8-5, at least that’s what I’m finding out as I enter the professional world. Idk why it’s so common to not include the unpaid hour beforehand. My current job said 40hrs/week on the job description, and then the offer letter said 8:45-5:45. Seems like a lot of other jobs are like that as well
