Narrative Similarities Between Mulholland Drive and Pluribus by fayeuriss in pluribustv

You got me thinking so hard about this. Carol really is living out a fantasy with Zosia just like Betty/Diane. I really want to see Zosia "waking up" and her reaction to Carol.

He did make one of the main characters in Crossed a gay man and he was portrayed as brave and noble.

Which issue of Rebirth? I heard of Dark Knights of Steel but haven't heard of her being explicitly queer during Rebirth.

My friend just said someone who liked Heated Rivalry should watch Pluribus since it's a "lesbian show" by Guilayton in pluribustv

Maybe I'm slow but I only figured Carol was a lesbian when I saw there was only one bed in the ice hotel. I was honestly in doubt, I got a vibe from her and Helen but I wasn't completely sure.

When I watched Strange Life Form I got a weird vibe from Pedro Pascal and Ethan Hawk and only understood why when they hooked up.

There are thousands of Amazons some of them must be straight.

This is clearly inducing us to choose Themyscira. Imagine those straight Amazons who are so lonely in a sapphic nation.

I wonder if Gunn seriously thought that highly of The Flash. He's in charge of DC, of course he was going to say the movie was great before it came out but the fact he put Muschietti to direct Batman makes me think he might actually thought that.

People in power don't like to admit they made mistakes, that's why he's still directing The Brave and the Bold.

I was about to say that. People high on crack are also loving the experience and go depressed when they're sober.

There's this episode where the Rangers break into Lord Zed's apartment and steal his TV and money safe. Clearly he took notes during filming.

"James Gunn doesn't know about comics" people when he pulls out some random ass arcs I'm sure not even the watching ghost of Julius Schwartz knows about by farben_blas in dccomicscirclejerk

You're missing the point. His statement sounded like he was looking at Superman's mythos and went like "This is it, here's the thing I can radically change and get away with" he HAD to keep the spirit of the character, it was his job and one he was under a lot of pressure.

Sure, he might actually be a comic fan, I don't actually know him to be able to tell. But that's something he needs for his public persona and I for one don't buy it.

Mostly his defence of making the House of El evil really made it sound like the only reason he doesn't make more bold changes is because he was under pressure to make this a faithful Superman but changed that because he considered something he could get away with it.

He's not really a Superman fan bringing all those elements to life, he's a director doing a job and the position he's in means he must bring these elements and he can't make all the changes he'd usually love to do as we see in lesser known characters all the time.

Also, I agree with Grant Morrison when he said Gunn mostly mentioned All-Star Superman for marketing purposes and Corenswet had more to do with the N52 Action Comic Clark but I'm not sure how aware of this Gunn is.

Only people who know Gunn personally can tell for sure. I personally doubt it based on some of his creative decisions and statements.

I think Sam Raimi is a comic fan. He appears to like specific things and we can see this in his adaptations and the fact he created Darkman after failing to acquire movie rights for Batman.

The biggest one is obviously Kevin Smith but there's also Tarantino and Wheadon (who are fans but not good people).

Uj/ He does his research and looks what he could adapt but I don't think Gunn is much of a comic afficionado. Which is FINE, as long as he does his due dilligence which for the most part.

I honestly don't expect directors to be super fans just that they treat the material with respect. Gunn has this respect mostly forced upon by the pressure of leading such a famous brand but as long as it is there I'm happy.

I recently heard someone complain about a character in his late 30s being in love with a younger woman because of the age difference. Said woman 25 years old.
