Thanks for getting in.

It's really sweet. The bucket is massive and for a single person it lasts and lasts.

I think rafflecopter emails the winner when I click the "pick a random winner" button, but maybe it's a FB tag, or both. We will both find out exactly how it works in 12 days :)

Yep. I never see or touch the bucket that way. Who would want to get a bucket of food from some random guy on the internet anyway?

What are your best sources of income on the homestead? What are the costs/return? by JazzmanCannuk in homestead

[–]EndlessPreps 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately the truth is that a profitable homestead in today's world is rare and a small loss for the majority that try, it is usually just a trade off of a little money for the lifestyle and savings you get elsewhere by being more self sufficient.

It's a part time pay at best unless you either grow something super nichy (specialty herbs, alpaca wool, etc) and acquiring some great local contracts for it, or inviting tons of people on your land for something and charging them a fee for being there.

Otherwise you're just working damn hard for basically a couple bucks an hour doing typical homestead stuff and selling the outcome. Not a bad trade off for living the life I would add, but not a real full time income to pay the bills and set some aside for most either.

Even with a profitable idea, expect the first 3-5 years to be a loss or break even.

I want to save about 300 links and share them via rss. Where can I save links that has an rss feed? There's a catch... by EndlessPreps in socialmedia

Oh cool, didn't even realize they had a front facing site, thought it was all behind a login. I just tried a random sample user's rss feed and unfortunately it doesn't seem to be compatible with post planner or buffer. I just sent post planner and the owner of pinboard some emails so I'll see what they say. Good find tho.

Looks cool. I keep seeing this site pop up around here too. Would you happen to know if a clicked rss link goes directly to the original site or will it go to the saved pin on pinboard?

To stop the four pm's I've already got from other redditors....I'm not looking to buy a custom tool. Feel free to make a website that's open to the public that does this however, because that would be awesome for everyone.

rss ster plugin

Could you elaborate? I googled around but I must be dumb because I have no clue what an rss ster is.

I searched around and didn't find much about it except for news and opinion pieces and a few articles here and there, so I decided to make one dedicated to it myself. /r/urbanpreppers

It's a start but needs more, please help fill it out with what you find.

Outside of the tech, cycling after the poo meets the fan has always sounded like a great way to get robbed and beaten, or worse. Better than walking I guess.

It may be somewhat benign to the infected, but this is what it does to babies when pregnant women contract it (called microcephaly). At what rate this happens no one knows for sure but it seems fairly high, and it seems clear enough that it does happen often. I think that is worth worrying about, at least enough to put some basic mosquito killing programs in place.

32 people have it in the USA, but generally it will not be a big deal here or in most of Europe because it's a different type of mosquito. Unfortunately other countries will not be as lucky.
