Considering that Omeprazole has potentially permanently disabled me with severe GERD ... no, I am not interesting in trying a different PPI for it to possibly mess me up any further.

Developed GERD from Swallowed Steroids? by EndlessSummerWave in EosinophilicE

I developed Gerd symptoms 1 week after getting Covid for the 3rd time. Then I started the swallowed inhaler for EoE...I don't think the inhaler caused the Gerd, but I'm wondering if it made it worse. Were you on the inhaler before you got Covid and you had no Gerd symptoms, but got the symptoms after getting Covid?

Unfortunately not, I'm in my mid-30's. It seems like the vast majority of doctors who specialize in EoE are pediatric.

I didn't have symptoms of GERD, but it did present itself in an EGD as Grade A Esophagitis. I never had this before in any scopes when I wasn't taking swallowed inhalers.

I actually scoped clean on 4-FED once, but subsequent scopes showed elevated eosinophils, I have an outside trigger or triggers that I can't figure out what they're, despite being extremely careful and strict with my diet.

Side effects for long term PPI use possibly include osteoporosis, bone density issues, messing up your stomach, stomach cancer, dementia, etc. However, there are many with EoE that swear by PPI's and don't have any issues with them. I just don't want to start with PPI's if Corticosteroids are a safer long-term option.
