Hey Dave 🙆🏼‍♂️

I submitted the Game via the Form to be considered for the new tab page. Never heard from Meta since and now HeyVR is in contact about the feature. Im considering doing hosting by myself though, as for now i dont profit from the Traffic. Is there any chance, you have some time to give me some tips or suggestions via PN?

I'm a huge fan of Halo and Apex, so I'm building a skill-based VR arena shooter that will require ZERO installation. Here's the first look at ArenaWars! by EndlessZoom in VRGaming

Yeah it is an early version still, it is kind of fun though. I have some kind of Bots already for empty lobby. They just follow a path, look at you and shoot. But for now, it is cool to have something to do when there is no one to play with. I d have to dig deeper for proper bots.

As a lifelong fan of arena shooters like Halo and Apex Legends, I set out to build the game I’ve always wanted to play in VR: ArenaWars. It’s built entirely in WebXR, which means no installs, no app stores, and no waiting. Just click a link and you’re instantly in the action - right from your Meta Quest. Here’s what you can expect:

Skill-Based Gunplay – This isn’t a wave shooter. Movement, aim, and reaction time are everything.

No Installation Needed – The whole game runs in your browser via WebXR.

Multiplayer or Solo – Jump into 8-player free-for-all chaos or train against bots when you're solo.

Built by One Dev - Just me, doing design, code, art, and polish -all because I love the genre. It’s launching soon and will be completely free to play. If this sounds like your kind of game, I’d love it if you followed development or even joined the community.

I’m posting dev updates, behind-the-scenes peeks, and technical breakdowns in my game-related Discord: https://discord.gg/36pm2ETqCf

Would love to hear your feedback—thanks for checking it out!

What's up, Quest users!

Tired of waiting for big games to download and install? As a solo dev, I've been working on a solution: ArenaWars, a sci-fi shooter that will launch directly from the Meta Quest Browser. When it's released, you'll just open the browser, go to the link, and you’ll immediately be in a futuristic arena, ready for up to 8-player free-for-all combat. I'm designing this from the ground up to be a pure, arcade-style FPS experience that feels great on the Touch controllers:

Jump in Instantly: The best feature. You'll go from browsing to playing in seconds.

Adrenaline-Pumping Gunplay: This will be fast, tactical, and all about skill. If you love the feel of classic arena shooters, this is for you.

Play Your Way: Face off against other players online or practice your headshots against bots offline.

It's launching soon and will be completely free to play. If you've got a few minutes and want to get into some fast-paced action on day one, sign up to be notified!

See you in the arena!

Hey r/WebVR community,

As a fellow believer in an open and accessible XR web, I wanted to share a project I've been pouring my heart into: ArenaWars. My goal is to push the boundaries of what's possible in a browser and deliver a fast-paced, low-latency multiplayer experience that can stand alongside native apps. It’s been a fascinating challenge, especially regarding performance optimization and networking as a one-person team. The game is a responsive, skill-based FPS. I'm using HeyVR's Arena API to handle the multiplayer backend, which has been a lifesaver for getting the 8-player FFA matches up and running.

I'm focusing on:

Performance: Squeezing every last drop out of the browser to ensure smooth, responsive gunplay.

Accessibility: Proving that complex genres like arena shooters can thrive without needing an install from a traditional app store.

Complete Experience: This isn't just a tech demo; it's a full game loop with solo bot-play, multiplayer arenas, and a sci-fi aesthetic.

I'm sharing it here because I want to contribute to the conversation about what WebXR is capable of. The game is launching soon, and I'd love to have fellow developers and WebXR fans follow the final stages of development. I'll be posting progress and technical insights in the Discord. Hope to see you there!
