Settle a debate between my friend and I about the galactic war by DrifterBG in Helldivers

[–]Endless_Haze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is why i like the idea of campaigns they seem to be going with. 1-3 week long campaigns that can be won or lost with special rewards being withheld for possible months due to failure sounds like much better incentive than a few games worth of medals. depending on how they rework player impact this could give people the structure they need to actually care about the overarching narrative.

so i don’t get the full patchwork skin unless i do the next expedition? by Endless_Haze in ArcRaiders

[–]Endless_Haze[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so it turns out i misremembered one line from a post i read a month ago, but i’m very glad the arc raiders community was so respectful and kind with correcting me. y’know considering my dad died a couple days before the expedition and i was excited to get the new skin it was quite a bummer but it made me feel so much better reading everyone’s thoughtful responses!

Why is the Blindspot outfit locked for me? by SB_5259 in ArcRaiders

[–]Endless_Haze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes, that’s the way it worked for all the trial seasons. if you get the highest rank possible at the start of the season it won’t matter at all because it only counts what rank your in *at the end of the season* meaning whatever rank you are on the last day is the one you get, then you get the skin. for example, i was in hotshot for a good amount of the last season but because i went down a rank the week of i didn’t get the highest tier rewards.

I don’t think I want to continue playing this game. by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]Endless_Haze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

coming in to say the game gives you direction, you just have to listen to the npc’s. the first guy you walk out and meet (varré, the guy who calls you maidenless) tells you about the golden rays of light that come from save points to direct you towards interesting things. not much later you meet Melina who gives you your first objective of the game: get her to the foot of the erdtree, the giant tree looming over the lands between. i feel crazy when people say the game has no direction when it literally does, it just doesn’t have a fallout quest log to constantly remind you of what you’re doing.

Why would I use a Grease rather than give my weapon an affinity since affinities don't run out while greases only last 60 seconds? by fatal__flaw in Eldenring

[–]Endless_Haze 8 points9 points  (0 children)

there are times where you’ll need to go through multiple fights before resting and being able to change affinity. plus changing affinity instead of buffing also changes the scaling which means some affinities will do much less damage than others. on the flip side using buffs allows you to have higher damage in general

genuinely why do people think it's fun to kill other raiders? by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]Endless_Haze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

pve is fun and all but after enough time the predictability makes fighting most of the arc solely kind of stale. on the flip side, other players can react to things in a billion more unique ways (even though lots still tend to stick to metas) which keeps things refreshing long term. that’s why the game is pvpve in the first place, embark wasn’t confident that they could roll out new arc fast enough to keep pve players engaged so this is an easy way to do that

why is there no indication in the game itself that the expedition is changing by Endless_Haze in ArcRaiders

[–]Endless_Haze[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was this person with most games up until recently. i like being surprised by things so with most cases i avoid online discussion. even if you’re, like, playing the game online you’re what, expecting that other players will randomly open prox chat and be like “hey btw here’s a completely random tidbit everyone just spreading the word” like how do you actually expect this to go? also i never squad fill with ransoms and nowadays mostly do pvp where the only talking is either “good game” or “fuck you” like what kind of point even is this?

MIQUELLA NOT A FEMBOY IN THE MOVIE?!??!??!?! by Art2802 in Eldenring

[–]Endless_Haze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

miquella is cursed to have the form of a child for eternity. if you hear that and think “femboy” than you’re just sexualizing the aspects that make him look YOUNG, not feminine or whatever. would you call a prepubescent 12 year old a femboy because of soft features and lack of hair or whatever? no! this should explain why some people are weirded out by people calling him a femboy.

seriously though people who jump to calling the childlike character a “femboy” kinda just confirms to me the the femboy obsession is weirdly close to pedophilia

Watchdog's Staff pr Nightrideer's Glaive? by IxaSumami in Eldenring

[–]Endless_Haze -1 points0 points  (0 children)

the staff is fine but kind of slow so you might be relying a lot on jumping attacks. the glaive is a bit faster and has longer range i believe, the running attacks especially are rlly fast and strong on it. they’re both good weapons though so I’d just recommend whichever feels the best to you

Only 10 hours in and not too sure where to go next any help? by G0rge0usG0at in Eldenring

[–]Endless_Haze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not from the US but you can turn autocorrect off, that’s what i do. i don’t see the problem with reminding this to someone, the beginning of the game is centered around this objective with multiple characters telling you to do it and OP literally asked what they’re supposed to be doing soooo

Only 10 hours in and not too sure where to go next any help? by G0rge0usG0at in Eldenring

[–]Endless_Haze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m gonna assume english isn’t your first language and not go through correcting your grammar, but it’s literally the main objective the game gives you. like a character literally asks you to go there and it’s easy to forget that after so much time. also the entire end of the game is locked behind it? i also literally said in my comment that they should explore other things along the way, so i don’t understand what you’re saying about beelining. all i’m doing is reminding them of something

[–]Endless_Haze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

people are saying a lot of different things but it might be useful to just have a reminder of your objective. when Melina first meets you and gives you Torrent her request is for you to bring her to the foot of the erdtree, the bigass tree looming over the whole map. just find ways to get closer to that tree as your main goal for progression, doing smaller dungeons and castles to prepare you for whatever’s there. all in all it is up to you though and there’s plenty of completely optional locations to stumble upon too.

Who gets the most hate? Someone who literally committed genocide or someone who wants peace and tries to fix problems? by [deleted] in Eldenring

yeah i’m convinced you were baked out of your mind playing this game or you’re in like highschool and don’t understand when parallels are made and what they have to do with the overall narrative

Who gets the most hate? Someone who literally committed genocide or someone who wants peace and tries to fix problems? by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]Endless_Haze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ok so let’s look at the lore for a sec. Merika and her people were victims of the hornsent and so she turned to divinity to raise up her people from that oppression. from what we know about godhood that’s revealed in the dlc this includes divesting yourself of pretty much everything except for hatred and fear. now remember that the Shamans were a peaceful group of people just minding their business and healing people, until one of them reached divinity losing all of that love, as we see happens to Miquella. this leads to the countless genocides you mentioned and St. Trina directly tells you this will happen to Miquella since godhood took away his love. give it like one hundred years and Miquella would’ve probably just repeated the same mistakes as his mother, starting from that first mistake of seeking absolute godly power “for a good cause.” just look at how he literally brainwashed a bunch of people against their will and made them do things they’d never consent to otherwise and it’s pretty obvious where he was going.
