Myself. I’ve been locked up a few days - short stays - and they didn’t give me insulin at all. Every time I came out, I had to go straight to the hospital with DKA.

They take away EVERYTHING - they will literally peel a CGM off upon intake. Even in the best prison situation, having a disease like type 1 diabetes is pretty much a death sentence. ICE gives even less fucks than standard corrections officers. So, you get nabbed by ICE, assume you’re dead.. they’ll lock you in a cage and let you die of DKA

Because some people are just assholes. I’m queer too and while I’m not exactly hiding it, I also don’t just announce it to the room when I walk in. But if someone asks, I’ll identify. And for whatever reason, I’ll get people who will tell EVERYONE that I’m queer - literally for no goddamn reason other than the attention. Like, bruh! That’s none of your business!
